Chapter 286: Ruvas Kingdom
Ruvas Kingdom! A kingdom that didn't appear in Charlotte's memories, but it was vast nonetheless—an abundant land famous for flowers and perfumes, and notably, it was a member nation of the World Government.
Thinking about this, Charlotte couldn't help but consider whether it was better to keep a low profile. A massive ship like his, flying a pirate flag and docking openly, was undoubtedly too conspicuous.
After a moment's thought, he decided to take down the pirate flag and stash it away, disguising the ship as a merchant vessel as they headed towards their destination.
However, North Blue truly lived up to its reputation as the most chaotic of the Four Seas. Even after lowering the flag, they encountered three separate pirate attacks in just one day.
The audacity of these pirates amazed Charlotte. After easily dispatching the crews of the attacking ships, the mood on board lightened significantly.
The children, especially Caesar and Tesla, took great pleasure in the aftermath, eagerly searching the defeated pirate ships for loot. Caesar led the charge while Tesla and their younger siblings followed closely behind, fascinated by the idea of finding treasure.
Whenever they found anything remotely interesting, they would shout excitedly, making the entire crew laugh heartily. The ship was filled with joyful energy, thanks to these little troublemakers.
After another day at sea, they finally arrived at Ruvas Island.
As the ship neared the harbor, many dockworkers and residents noticed the enormous black vessel approaching.
"What a massive ship!"
"It's made of iron! An iron ship!"
Some whispered in awe as the ship docked.
Charlotte stepped down first, his appearance slightly altered—still with his signature golden hair, but now sporting a pair of neatly trimmed mustaches, giving him a more mature and stern look.
"Restock supplies and enjoy the island for a few days," Charlotte instructed his crew.
The crew nodded and began to disembark in groups. The townspeople, watching these well-organized and intimidating figures walk off the ship, couldn't help but murmur among themselves.
"What kind of people are these? They feel so... formidable."
"They look like soldiers... but that ship doesn't belong to any kingdom!"
Their conversation was interrupted by gasps and murmurs of admiration when a line of beautiful women disembarked. The women, each stunning in their own right, moved gracefully down the gangplank, drawing the attention of every man on the docks.
"Could they be accompanying some noble? Or maybe even Celestial Dragons?"
"Nah, they don't have that suffocating presence. But they sure are breathtaking."
Just as Charlotte was about to move forward, the commotion of the crowd was abruptly broken by loud shouting and the sharp crack of a whip.
"Move! Move aside! You filthy commoners, make way for the young lord!"
A group of armored guards pushed through the gathering, escorting a young nobleman clad in extravagant white and gold robes. His nose pointed arrogantly upward, and he strutted with exaggerated importance.
The young noble's eyes widened at the sight of the beautiful women, his mouth hanging open and drooling slightly.
Unable to hold back, he shouted arrogantly, "Hey! You there! This is my territory! You can't just dock here without paying! Leave those women as compensation!"
Charlotte rubbed his forehead, sighing deeply.
"I really didn't want to cause trouble... but idiots like this just keep showing up to get their heads chopped off."
The nobleman's entourage sneered at Charlotte's dismissive attitude. One of the guards stepped forward, brandishing his weapon.
"Are you deaf? The young lord is speaking! Hand over the women now, or face punishment!"
Charlotte looked at the guard with disinterest.
"Kill him."
Without hesitation, Esdeath stepped forward and, with a single slash, severed the man's hand. In another swift motion, she cut his throat.
"Kill them all," Esdeath commanded coldly, and her subordinates instantly drew their weapons, rushing forward to eliminate the remaining guards.
The nobleman, now alone among the corpses, trembled violently, his face pale as death.
"You... you dare kill me? I... I am a Viscount of Ruvas Kingdom!"
Esdeath snorted disdainfully.
"A useless title. You're nothing but trash."
With a wave of her hand, ice engulfed the trembling noble, freezing him solid before she shattered him with a casual kick.
"Idiots like him should be killed on sight," she remarked nonchalantly, wiping her blade.
Charlotte glanced at the aftermath, then gestured to his crew.
"Alright, gather the supplies. Those who want to explore the island, go ahead. Just be back by tomorrow."
The crew cheered, dispersing into the bustling port city.
The onlookers, who had been frozen in shock, now began to whisper nervously among themselves.
"They... they killed a noble... just like that."
"What kind of people are these?"
Fear gripped the crowd, and some began to back away slowly.
An older man, recognizing the danger, spoke up.
"We need to leave! The kingdom's army will be here soon... they won't let this slide!"
As word of the incident spread through the city, panic ensued. Everyone knew that killing a noble in broad daylight would undoubtedly provoke a swift and brutal response from the kingdom.
Meanwhile, Charlotte casually walked into town, unbothered by the chaos behind him, his wives and children following him as if on a casual stroll.
