June 30th, 2019
It was the anniversary of the multiverse tournament.
This year the stadium we made was filled with people from all universes, my relatives were among the crowd.
"This is an incredible event." Said the announcer, "this year's tournament is going to be amazing."
"That's right," said the other announcer, "this year, we have fighters from all over the multiverse. Are you ready to rumble?"
"Yes!" Yelled the crowd.
"Then let the games begin!"
"This is going to be awesome," said Tony, "I can't wait."
"Me either," said Jack, "and I bet you'll do great."
"Our first match; introducing first from Universe prime, the current multiverse champion Bill Kyle!"
The crowd cheered.
As I walked to the ring, Stan Bush's the Warrior played through the speakers.
"And his opponent; from universe 2100, Devon Ubel!"
Dragula by Rob Zombie played and Devon Ubel appeared in the ring.
"So," said Uber, "we meet again. This time I will crush you."
I looked over at Lilith.
"You had to release him, didn't you?"
Lilith smirked.
"Sure. Let's make this tournament more interesting. Show us how much you've improved."
I laughed.
"Fine," I said, "bring it on."
Ubel laughed.
"I will destroy you Kyle!"
I smiled.
"Go for it... if you can..."
The bell rang!
Ubel charged at me, and I sidestepped out of the way and hit him with a karate chop on the back of his head. I moved so fast that no one in the audience could see me move, to them it looked as if I had not moved an inch.
Ubel fell to the ground, unconscious.
The referee began to count.
"1... 2... 3..."
"That's the fastest fight I've ever seen." Said Lilith.
"4...5...6...7..."
Ubel did not move a muscle.
"8...9...10! That's it!"
"Wow," said the announcer, "that was an incredible match. Bill Kyle has once again shown why he is the champion of the multiverse."
"He certainly has," said the other announcer, "that was incredible. Not counting the ten count, I would say that the match lasted less than a second! And the winner is Bill Kyle!"
The crowd cheered.
I smiled and looked at Uber.
"Now, you will be imprisoned forever."
I opened the bottle, and Uber was sucked inside.
"That was incredible! We'll take a short break and then come back with another amazing match. But first, a word from our sponsors. Don't forget to buy the new game system. It will change your life."
The announcers went off air, and the stadium was filled with chatter.
"Wow," said Jack, "that was a fast match. How did you move so fast?"
"It's a combination of the speed and strength I received from Hermes and Zeus," I said, "I'm getting stronger every day."
"That's great Bill," said Tony, "keep up the good work."
I sat down and began to meditate as the platform was cleared off and prepared for the next match.
After several minutes, the platform was ready, and the announcers returned to the stage.
"Welcome back," said the announcer, "and now, let's get back to the tournament."
The crowd cheered.
"Our next match," said the announcer, "is between Manny Rodriguez, the Lucha Libre from universe 0016 and Stheno, the gorgon from universe prime!"
The crowd cheered.
Manny ran to the ring as Rico Suave by Gerardo played. The lights shined off of his light blue mask as Manny flipped onto the platform.
Stheno climbed into the ring while David Bowie's modern love played. She was a beautiful woman with snakes for hair and a serpent tail.
The bell rang, and the two fighters began to fight.
They were both amazingly strong and quick.
They traded blows for several minutes, and then, Stheno's tail shot out and wrapped around Manny's leg.
"Oh no," said the announcer, "it looks like Manny is in trouble. Can he escape the tail?"
Manny punched the tail and it loosened its grip.
Once he was free, Manny flew at Stheno with a flying drop kick.
The blow hit her in the chest, and she was knocked to the ground.
Manny landed on his feet and then did a spinning back kick that connected with Stheno's face.
The blow was hard enough to knock her down.
Manny ran and jumped over Stheno.
"What is he doing?"
"He's going for a moonsault."
Manny did a flip and came down hard on Stheno.
"That's gotta hurt!"
The crowd cheered.
The referee began to count.
"1... 2... 3...4...5...6...7...8...9...10! That's it"
The referee called the match, and Manny was declared the winner.
"Wow," said the announcer, "that was a great fight. And now, we will take a break before the final match of the tournament."
The crowd cheered.
Everyone stood up and began to talk about the fights.
I went outside for some fresh air.
As I sat down and meditated.
After a few minutes, a voice interrupted me.
"Bill?" It was Lilith, "We have a little problem."
I looked at Lilith.
"What is it?"
"Well," said Lilith, "I found something that I think you should see."
"Fine." I said as I got up from my meditation position.
"Teleport!"
Lilith waved her hand and I found myself in the afterlife. In a front of me was a large brick wall with blood red writing that read "LILITH WILL DIE"
Lilith was right.
Something was wrong.
I looked at Lilith.
"Do you think someone is after you?"
"Yes," said Lilith, "I don't know who it is. I did wipe out most of the multiverse before you defeated me. Many of my enemies still hate me and want me dead. I don't know which one of them would go this far though."
"Well," I said, "whoever it is, they are not getting away with it. I will protect you, and together, we will find out who is responsible."
"Thanks," said Lilith, "but what about the tournament?"
"It can wait," I said, "your safety is more important. I'm going to stay with you and keep you safe."
"Thanks, Bill," said Lilith as she gave me a hug.
Elsewhere in the afterlife was a mysterious man.
His identity was hidden behind a mask.
"Lilith... will... die...."
The masked man laughed evilly.
"You will pay for what you did, Lilith. You will pay."
