Chapter 180 - Chapter 179: Counterkill

After taking the potion, Climb felt an endless surge of power coursing through his body.

Gagaran and Lakyus quickly subdued two soldiers and seized their weapons.

"You must protect Her Highness the Princess at all costs!" Climb shouted to the soldiers behind him.

Without hesitation, he swung his sword toward Gagaran, the very adventurer who had once taught him swordsmanship.

In Climb's heart, no one could surpass the princess's importance—not even Gagaran, the adamantite-ranked adventurer who had taught him many combat skills.

Gagaran and Lakyus hesitated to strike Climb, but if they didn't, they knew they might fall here today.

The longer the fight dragged on, the more soldiers would arrive, and if the Warrior Captain Gazef came, their chances of escaping would be slim.

Just as Gagaran prepared to use the back of her blade to knock Climb unconscious, Climb dodged her strike at the last moment.

Having trained with Gagaran countless times, Climb was familiar with her habits and movements.

"For Her Highness the Princess, I absolutely cannot lose!" Climb's heart burned with unwavering determination.

Climb's body began to undergo changes as he had consumed a stimulant-enhancing potion with severe side effects.

This potion could temporarily boost combat power significantly.

Climb's physical abilities were now greatly enhanced, making him every bit as formidable as Gagaran.

On the other hand, Gagaran, having reached the pinnacle of her abilities as an adamantite-ranked adventurer, had long hit her limit and was unable to surpass it.

Climb evaded an attack and, with a quick maneuver, slashed toward Gagaran's back.

Not harboring any killing intent against Climb, Gagaran had not anticipated such a move.

Climb's sword struck Gagaran's back. Fortunately, her tough physique prevented the blow from hitting any vital points.

Lakyus had been confident in Gagaran's strength, but in the next moment, she saw Gagaran struck from behind by Climb.

Meanwhile, Lakyus was surrounded by a swarm of soldiers, leaving her unable to assist Gagaran immediately.

The injury jolted Gagaran into focus. She immediately delivered a powerful kick toward Climb's stomach.

"Martial Art! Fortress!"

Climb quickly activated the martial art, and though he was knocked back a few steps, he remained largely unharmed.

The stimulant-enhancing potion had drastically increased Climb's offensive capabilities, but it did nothing to improve his defense.

Climb, fully aware of Gagaran's strength, was fighting her with everything he had, pushing himself to 200% of his ability.

The wound on Gagaran's back was deep, a clear indication that Climb's attack had been delivered with lethal intent.

"Climb, don't believe in Renner! She's a madwoman who has betrayed the Empire and defected to the Sorcerer Kingdom, killing countless people in the process!"

"Shut up! I won't allow you to insult Princess Renner!" Climb roared at Gagaran, his voice filled with fury.

Blood filled Climb's eyes, and his pupils had turned completely red.

From his mouth, ears, nose, and eyes, fresh blood was flowing freely, painting a horrifying picture.

Unfazed by the grotesque sight of his blood-stained visage, Climb launched another attack at Gagaran.

Realizing that there was no other choice but to kill Climb, Gagaran decided not to hold back anymore.

However, as their swords clashed, Gagaran quickly fell into a disadvantage. The wound on her back severely hampered her strength.

"Martial Art: Slash!"

Climb drew back his sword and struck with explosive force.

Gagaran raised her blade just in time to block the attack.

With a shattering sound, Gagaran's sword broke.

Her weapon, an ordinary guard's blade, was no match for Climb's superior sword. The two were worlds apart in quality.

Seizing the opportunity, Climb channeled all his strength into a strike aimed at Gagaran's chest.

Gagaran dropped her broken sword and reached out with her hands, grabbing Climb's blade tightly.

Blood flowed freely from her palms as the sharp edge cut into her hands.

With her other hand joining the first, she barely managed to hold off Climb's attack.

However, nearby soldiers, without hesitation, thrust their spears toward Gagaran.

Gagaran was out of options. With Climb's current strength matching her own and her injuries slowing her down, she couldn't move. If she did, Climb's blade would undoubtedly sever her hands and then decapitate her without hesitation.

At the critical moment, Lakyus stepped in front of Gagaran, using her sword to deflect several spears.

With a swing of her blade, she struck down the spear-wielding soldiers.

Lakyus then raised her sword and unhesitatingly slashed toward Climb.

Climb quickly withdrew his sword to block Lakyus's attack. It wasn't fear of death that motivated him, but the knowledge that if he fell, no one would be left to protect the princess.

If there were only one enemy, Climb would willingly sacrifice himself in a mutual kill. But as it stood, he couldn't afford to die.

While Climb was locked in combat with Lakyus, events were also unfolding on Renner's side.

As Climb battled Gagaran and Lakyus fought off the soldiers, Tina and Tia silently crept toward the princess.

Tina lunged forward with her dagger, aiming for Renner.

A shield-bearing soldier reacted just in time, stepping in front of Renner and successfully blocking Tina's strike.

As the soldiers all turned their attention toward Tina, Tia emerged behind them, slipping unnoticed to Renner's back.

Only two soldiers remained directly beside Renner, charged with her protection.

Tia swiftly and effortlessly killed them both without making a sound.

Her dagger then struck toward the back of Renner's neck with deadly precision.

However, the outcome was nothing like what Tia had anticipated. The dagger didn't pierce Renner's neck; instead, it broke upon contact. The blade shattered the moment it touched Renner's skin.

As Tia tried to react, a slender, delicate-looking hand suddenly grabbed her by the throat with immense force.

Tia struggled desperately but was unable to make a sound.

The soldiers were focused on attacking Tina, completely unaware of what was happening here. Gagaran and Lakyus were also engaged in fierce combat, with no time to pay attention to anything else.

Evileye was locked in a stalemate with Brian as well.

Only Tina noticed, but she was powerless to help Tia now.

She could only watch helplessly as Tia was strangled to death by Renner.

As Tia neared death, with her final burst of willpower, she activated her substitute skill.

The substitute skill was triggered, and Tia appeared in another location.

Just as Tia thought she had narrowly escaped death, a spear pierced her through with chilling precision.

It was Renner, who, upon realizing Tia had used the substitute skill, used her toe to hook a spear from the ground, gripped it in one hand, and threw it without hesitation.

It struck Tia with pinpoint accuracy.

As for Tia's position, Renner had made a guess.

Renner had placed herself in Tia's perspective and easily deduced where she was.
