This was the second time Lance had heard this name from someone else.
The first person who brought up Ruth was William, Patricia's father, who had mentioned the politician of the Imperial District with a tone full of ridicule when he talked about how the councilman wasn't very bright.
This was also one of the reasons that spurred his decision to run for election in the Imperial District.
Dealing with a Liberal Party member who didn't have much backing and held extreme political views was certainly preferable to dealing with Social Party members who were entrenched in local interest networks.
Lance supported his decision. William's ascendancy would bring him some practical benefits, at least he could hear about policy changes and other news sooner.
