"Be careful on the road."
Hanaoka Asako quickly walked a few steps toward the station but suddenly stopped.
While Dubian Che was wondering what had happened, her body trembling, she turned back with a crying tone and said, "The, the train, is gone."
"Gone?" Dubian Che reacted for a second before realizing she meant the last train had left.
"Is Hua Tian's home far from here?"
"Uh-huh." With one hand still holding her schoolbag, Hanaoka Asako used the other to pitifully wipe her tears.
For a "little schoolgirl" who had never experienced such a thing, it was indeed panic-inducing.
"Can we take a cab? I'll help you call one."
Between sobs, Hanaoka Asako pulled a pink wallet from her bag, "Thir-thirty, I only have thirty yen..."
"That little?!"
"From drinking coffee, ugh—"
"Stop crying! I'll lend it to you, just pay me back tomorrow!" Dubian Che was truly helpless against a woman's tears.
"Uh-huh." Hanaoka Asako nodded through her sobs, "Thank you."
