November 14, overcast.
The sky was shrouded with dark clouds, as if a downpour was imminent, and gusts of cold, damp wind blew, rustling the treetops.
At 8:40 in the morning, after having breakfast, Dongye Gen sat in his bulletproof sedan and the chauffeur slowly drove out of the villa's gates, heading toward the company.
Sitting in the backseat with his legs crossed, Dongye Gen glanced through the car window at the gloomy sky, a look of annoyance creasing his brow as he casually picked up a newspaper.
The car had been driving for approximately 10 minutes when, following the chauffeur's depressing of the brakes, it gradually slowed down.
Eventually, it came to a stop in the middle of the road.
"Why have we suddenly stopped?" Dongye Gen pulled aside the small partition between the front and rear seats and asked with displeasure.
