While chaos erupted within Kumogakure, Kisame had already engaged Killer B in battle. At the same time, Mabui had managed to locate Obito.
Upon learning that the Akatsuki had launched their attack, Obito and Zetsu's first instinct was not to join the fight but to escape immediately.
They were well aware of the Akatsuki's current combat strength, especially with Kakashi on their side. Obito's Kamui had been rendered useless against him, and relying solely on a single Rinnegan wouldn't be enough to take on Deidara.
But Deidara had anticipated Obito's reaction. He and Kakashi had been secretly trailing Mabui the entire time, waiting for the moment Obito would attempt to flee.
"Uchiha Obito, today marks the end of everything between you and the Akatsuki," Deidara declared as he and Kakashi revealed themselves.
"Oh? So you've already figured out my identity?" Now that his secret was out, Obito saw no need to keep up the pretense.
Kakashi's expression shifted, his voice carrying a mix of shock and disbelief. "Obito… it's really you."
"You were supposed to be dead."
Obito sneered. "Kakashi, what's wrong?"
"Are you that surprised to see me alive?"
Kakashi stood frozen, as if a bucket of cold water had just been dumped over his head. His mind raced.
What had happened to Obito? Why had he become like this?
"Why? Why?" Obito spread his arms wide, his voice tinged with mania. "If you must know why, it's simple—to create a world without war, a world of true peace."
"The current world is filled with war, betrayal, hypocrisy, and cruelty. I will destroy it and rebuild one where eternal peace truly exists."
Kakashi turned to Deidara, thinking to himself—wasn't this the same ideology as the Akatsuki? Then why were they fighting?
Deidara, as if reading his thoughts, smirked. "You'll have to ask him. Our goal in the Akatsuki is also peace, yet he refuses to accept our ideals."
"Hmph!" Obito scoffed. "Your version of peace is nothing but an illusion—temporary and fleeting."
"Think back to the so-called 'God of Shinobi,' Hashirama Senju. While he was alive, his overwhelming strength was enough to maintain peace. But what happened after he died?"
"The world inevitably fell back into war and chaos. The false peace was stripped away, revealing the blood-soaked reality underneath."
"Then what about your so-called peace?" Deidara asked.
"My peace is something I call the Moon's Eye Plan."
"The Moon's Eye Plan?" Kakashi frowned, confused.
"That's right!" A crazed glint flickered in Obito's eyes. "You've heard of Tsukuyomi, haven't you?"
"I will cast a genjutsu onto the moon, projecting its influence across the entire shinobi world. In this illusionary world I create—"
"There will be no war, no famine, no disasters. Everyone will experience happiness and obtain everything they've ever desired."
"That is true, eternal peace!"
Hearing this twisted, borderline delusional plan, both Mabui and Kakashi felt a chill run down their spines. Even if it brought happiness, if it was all just an illusion… what meaning would such peace truly hold?
Deidara shot a glance at Kakashi, his message clear—
Don't hold back when we fight. Just look at what your former teammate has become. Stopping him isn't about personal grudges anymore.
"Obito, if you insist on carrying out this dangerous plan, then I have no choice but to stop you here," Kakashi said solemnly.
Obito roared in fury. "Fine! If you have the strength, then come!"
"Just like when you killed Rin—kill me too!"
Rin!
Hearing that name, Kakashi's grip on his kunai faltered slightly.
"You… you know?" Kakashi's voice was filled with regret and sorrow.
"I know! Of course I know!"
"I watched it happen with my own eyes. I saw you drive your Raikiri straight through Rin's heart."
"Kakashi, today you will kill me the same way you killed her!"
"You're nothing but a comrade-killer!"
Banshō Ten'in!
Despite his outburst, Obito remained highly rational beneath the surface. His conviction in his path was unwavering.
To him, the real world was the illusion. As long as he could successfully cast Infinite Tsukuyomi, Rin, Kakashi, Minato—everyone—would be reborn in the new world.
Killing Kakashi or Minato meant nothing to him. He was simply eliminating their false selves.
He had already taken a few unnoticed steps forward earlier, and now, with a sudden motion, he lunged at Kakashi—who was still caught up in his emotions.
If he could take Kakashi's Sharingan, he would once again be invincible.
Clay Hydra!
Kakashi was shaken, but Deidara wasn't. With a flick of his hand, countless clay serpents shot forward, completely engulfing even Kakashi in the process.
"Kakashi, use your Kamui!"
"Haah!"
A powerful explosion erupted, causing the entire cave to collapse. Deadly heat and shockwaves surged toward Obito. His first instinct was to use Kamui, but he immediately realized the mistake and instead activated Shinra Tensei!
Boom!
The cave, along with the entire mountain, was obliterated. Kakashi had used Kamui to absorb the explosion's effects, keeping himself unharmed. Though Obito's words had shaken him, he quickly regained focus.
Opposite them, Obito stood tall, and soon, six figures emerged around him—his newly created Six Paths.
Unlike Nagato's original Six Paths, Obito's lacked the same level of strength. The method of using six Jinchūriki and their respective Tailed Beasts was no longer an option. He only had access to the Five-Tails and the Six-Tails.
The Five-Tails had already been given to the Raikage, leaving only the Six-Tails. Obito had assigned its Jinchūriki to replace the weakest of the original Six Paths, while the remaining five maintained the same functions as Nagato's.
"You," Deidara glanced at the battered Mabui, "aren't you leaving yet?"
He had to admit—her unique dark complexion was quite… captivating.
Once Mabui had fled, Deidara turned to Kakashi and laid out his strategy.
"When he uses Kamui, toss something into his dimension."
"I'll handle the main attack."
Kakashi nodded. Facing Obito head-on was still difficult for him.
"Uchiha Obito, let me show you my new art."
C3 - Special Type - Asura Path!
A massive clay construct appeared on the battlefield—a boxy, humanoid war machine with twin cannons mounted on its shoulders, exhaust pipes protruding from its back, and an array of miniature launchers embedded in its stomach.
It looked heavy and clunky, but its firepower was nothing to scoff at.
