Chapter 109 - Chapter 109: Duel of Bones and Tempest [2]

[14th Everdusk 2103], CGA Branch, Dyna Crest Country — Test Dungeon

The final battle began.

The boss, now fully engulfed in his rage mode, let out a primal roar and charged at me, his longsword gleaming with destructive intent.

"YOU SHALL PAY THIS DEBT WITH YOUR BLOOD, YOU VILE WORSHIPPER!"

His voice thundered through the chamber as he slashed at my neck with all his fury. A powerful gust of wind surged from the blade—but I was ready.

I moved in first, parrying the blow and halting his swing mid-motion.

"YOU—!"His hand came crashing down, aiming to pummel me into the ground.

Too slow.

[Shadow Leap]

In the blink of an eye, I vanished. The boss's empty hand slammed into the ground with a dull thud, the force cracking the stone beneath. Before he could even react—

A glint behind his back.A flash of fire.My blade struck the base of his skull.

The flame enchantment flared to life, erupting in a burst of heat. Bones cracked from the force—but the boss remained unfazed, his HP bar barely twitching.

He growled in annoyance, turning slowly toward me.

"These lowly tricks won't change anything, fool!"

Before he could react further, I delivered a clean punch to his back. Though it didn't pierce his armor, I felt something shift—bones creaking within.

My eyes darted to his HP bar.

3~4% drop.

I blinked.That worked?

I dismissed my sword into my inventory, heart racing with revelation.

"So it does work here…"

The image of a legend flashed through my mind. A memory etched in the hearts of countless aspirants—of someone who used his bare hands to bring down a puppet knight during his own class selection trial.

I smiled.

"History really does repeat itself. I walk the same path as the one who inspired me… the great Mo###ch."

The flame within me roared.

I dashed forward, determined.

The boss raised his sword again, wind gathering like a storm. But I was too close now—too tight for him to fully swing.

I slammed my fist into his gut.

"This battle's going to be a lot less tiring now," I muttered, grinning.

Each hit drained a little more of his health. My movements grew sharper.Faster.

I was evolving—right in the middle of the fight.

My fists glowed faintly as the system acknowledged my shift in combat style.

I threw an uppercut. The boss's skull jerked back as he stumbled away.

"You~~~ I won't let you win again! I can't let the evil being who killed my lord and comrades get away! RAHHHHHH—!!"

He roared and raised his sword.

"EVEN IF I DIE HERE AGAIN… I'LL TAKE YOU WITH ME!"

A chill crept down my spine.

I could feel it—that skill was deadly.

"!"

The wind twisted unnaturally as his sword shimmered with condensed elemental energy. One swing, and I'd be cut clean through.

The wind blade howled through the air toward me.

I had seconds.

My brain went into overdrive.

Every skill. Every trick. Every lesson.

There—!

"Yes… it can work."

I sprinted forward. Toward him.

The boss sneered.

"So you've chosen a suicidal end? Then die in shame!"

The Tempest Severance slashed forward—

And just as it reached me… my body shattered into dust.

The raging wind continued on, crashing into the far wall, leaving nothing behind.

No blood. No body.Nothing.

The boss froze.

His eyes searched the space where I once stood.

"Impossible…"

Outside the Dungeon — Moments Earlier

The CGA staff monitoring the test dungeon observed the monitors in silence—until one of them jolted upright.

"Sir, look! Something's wrong with the readings!"

The supervising officer rushed over. The mana radiation from the dungeon was surging wildly.

"Damn… that kid really does have the worst luck. To have something go wrong during the final phase…"

His voice trailed off.

Then—a voice interrupted from behind.

"What will be decided by fate, Mr. Field Agent?"

The two agents turned—and immediately froze.

This wasn't just another staff member.

This wasn't even someone ordinary.

Standing before them was—
