Just as I was about to deliver another striking blow towards a Bael devil's face, my senses suddenly warned me about something and it's not in the battlefield.
'The rings….Something happened to them!?' My eyes widened in surprise upon the realization of where the warning came from.
The Magic Rings that I upgraded and gave to my four students were also enchanted to warn me if something happened to them.
It's something simple, the Magic Ring would release a pulse of warning once something foreign such as magic that doesn't belong to the wearer affected their body or physical weapons inflicting injury.
Now, the reason of the warning came from either of them.
Magic or Physical?
It's magic. After all, four pulses came to me at the same time, which is quite impossible for any physical weapons to cause especially since Tam is almost impervious to such weapons due to his metal-like skin as a low-class devil.
Which means, this is something that only a magic can cause.
A strong one at that.
'Dammit. Should I hurry back to the Sanctum?' Heavy decisions weigh in my mind.
I could go back and try to save them if I can which might be impossible considering their enemy is magical oriented and they might have a means to escape fast.
I should've told them not to leave the Sanctum. If they were inside, it would've been impossible for someone to attack them.
Just as I was about to weigh my decisions, I felt someone tug at my demonic energy, meaning someone was trying to establish an Audio-Visual Communication magic with me.
Seeing no harm with it, I answered.
"Who's this?" Before the other side could speak, I spoke first.
[ChamCham! It's me, Serafall! Don't tell me you've forgotten your fiancee? Huhu! That makes Serafall sad!]
"Sera? Where are you? Why're you calling?" I frowned.
[Well, Sirzechs just told me that Zekram somehow managed to kidnap four kids out of nowhere and told Sirzechs about his plan about the kids…]
As soon as she finished her words, I finally couldn't help myself and leaked my aura mixed with anger.
The nearby devils, especially Low to Mid-class passed out on the ground while the High-class devils were forced to kneel on the ground.
"Serafall….Those four kids. I think they're my students. No, they're definitely my students. Zekram discovered that I'm fighting against the devils instead of siding with them. He might be planning to use them as some sort of leverage against me."
[Gasp! How dare he! Don't worry, you don't need to say the word! They Mama Sera will come to their rescue!]
Mama Sera? I almost lost my composure after hearing it.
"Wait. Don't fully engage against him. Just try to get involve and update me of their status." I relayed, however Serafall's next words made me spit.
[Update? Status? What are those?]
I'm not sure if it's because those words aren't a thing yet or Serafall simply lacks in her vocabulary.
After a minute of explanation and clarification, Serafall then agreed to the plan.
[Then! Ninja Sera will take over the mission! Fwoooshh!]
I think I just heard a gust of wind on the other side before cutting off.
Doesn't matter. Serafall should be able to handle it. Or maybe I should've told her to grab Ajuka for help?
My thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a sea of flames rushing towards me.
With a quick backflip, I narrowly dodged it and stared at the perpetrator.
It was the Phenex Devil whose brother I killed.
The devil just glared at me, without uttering a single word out of his mouth.
'I should ask his name at this point, right?' I questioned myself.
"Hey. What's your name?" In the devil's perspective, the question was not only so sudden but also came out of the blue.
"Me? A-Are you seriously asking my name? After what you did to my brother?!" At first he was surprised but as he ended his speech, he was on the verge of anger.
'Seriously, I thought phoenixes were supposed to be calm and collected, what is this getting angry for every single minute?'
"Did I stutter? I'm asking your name. If it would make you feel better, I'll introduce myself first. You can call me the Sorcerer Supreme and I am the representative of the humankind." The I gestured for him to introduce himself next.
"You! Fine, so you would know who will kill you! Remember my name, I am Juval Phenex! Heir of the Phenex clan and through my flames, I'll incinerate you until you're nothing but ashes!" After that, I thrust his hand forward and huge amounts of flame came flying out towards my way, burning everything in its way.
Not even the corpses of the devils and angels were spared from his flames. All were burnt into crips and turned into ashes.
As for me, I was stationary, not moving an inch and simply watched as the flames that could devour an entire small town came at me.
So this is the full strength of an Ultimate class? Capable of town destruction?
Not gonna lie, I was expecting more but this? This is nothing but disappointment.
Either Juval is just the weakest among the Ultimate class devils or the books about Ultimate class devils being able to destroy cities was nothing but a lie and a propaganda to encourage devils to increase their strength or simply to just scare off the other races.
Nevertheless, it won't bring back the lost expectation that I just had.
On the other side, Juval was grinning widely. This is by far the strongest attack he has in his arsenal. However, his sharp ears heard the familiar voice. Neither arrogance or confidence in his tone, just pure disappointment.
"That's it?"
"Wha-?" All of the sudden, a fist came piercing through the sea of flames and connected to his jaw. Due to the flames he casted blocking his view, he was unable to react fast enough.
BAM!
"KAAKKHH!" Juval felt so much pain. The fist that struck him on the face was nothing like before.
It's like God himself punched him on the face.
Unbeknownst to him, I coated my fist with Holy Energy before punching him, making it ten times painful and effective and since it doesn't cause injury, Juval has no need to heal himself.
To be honest, I could do this everyday if it wasn't for the hurry of saving my students from Zekram. That bastard somehow discovered where I live and even know who my students were.
"Unfortunately, I'm kind of in a hurry. Don't worry, I'll tell your father to bear another heir." Without waiting for him to speak, I unleashed my Sacred Sword of Vishanti and stabbed his chest, exactly where his heart resides.
"Kak!" I can see the pain in his eyes and his pupils staring directly at mine. I don't know if it's just me but I can feel him trying to beg just through his eyes alone.
Unfortunately, we're enemies and I don't show mercy to my enemies.
As if the stan wasn't enough, I pulled my sword out and his body jerked forward before twirling it and sliced it towards his neck.
Shing!
At first, nothing seemed to happen, others might think I missed but as soon as the red line appeared on his neck, blood started to seep out and drip from his neck.
Perhaps it is due to his devil physiology but Juval still managed to slowly back away and hold his neck with his remaining arm for a few seconds before falling down to his knees and that's when the head finally fell.
Thud!
The head fell on the ground first before his body.
Silence ensued on the surroundings as the Phenex clan stared at the dead body of their General and Phenex Heir on the ground.
"Prince Juval is dead?" They muttered to themselves, as if they couldn't believe their eyes.
"T-This can't be. He's an Ultimate class! He's the epitome of our strength? How can be die that easily?!"
"The Phenex Clan is finished. The two princes are dead and the head is injured from his last fight against a Seraphim!"
Countless voices and comments can be heard from both of my sides.
Even the Angels from above were staring down at the dead body with shocked expressions.
"A human killed an Ultimate class devil? I've never heard of such thing before? If he could kill someone like Juval as easy as this, what is his full strength?" A Cherubim whispered.
"He's no doubt as strong as a pantheon God. Maybe a Minor God but still strong nonetheless."
Unfortunately, I can't afford to waste any more time so I formed a small gesture in my hands and unleashed another spell.
Suddenly, countless clones emerged out of my body, spreading across the battlefield, floating in the sky and staring down at the devils.
Images of Ikkon
An illusion spell or at least that's what it is supposed to be but with my upgrades, it is now a real cloning spell, each clone of mine holds at least a low-class in terms of energy.
These clones should be enough to serve as a distraction for the devils and also to fake myself still being in the battlefield when I leave.
I don't know if Zekram has someone watching over me and if he received information that I left the war, he would be alerted and might do something out of desperation.
I won't be killing him of course. He's still needed for the possible Civil War and to make sure that the devils won't mess around declaring war left and right.
Zekram might be an enemy for now but he's more worthy alive than dead. For now.
So without hesitation, I switched places with one of the clones, casted another clone while putting myself in an invisible spell before leaving through a portal.
I'll make sure to teach Zekram a lesson this time. Back then I was afraid but not anymore.
I've grown some spine and some balls.
So while it's still early, I'll instill fear on Zekram just so he knows not to mess with me and those in my interest, which is the human world I'm safeguarding.
