"Um, there's something I must confess," Nicholas said, staring at her nervously. It was as if he was afraid what he was about to say would make her angry.
"Okay, tell me; I'm all ears," Luciana said.
"Do you remember the first time we met in Serenevale?"
"Yes, I remember; what has that got to do with what we're talking about?" Luciana asked with raised eyebrows, looking confused.
"After the first time I met you, I couldn't get you out of my mind. It was as if I couldn't even function without you," he said and paused.
"And?" Luciana urged.
"At first, I thought the reason why I was so intrigued by a girl I had only met once and couldn't get out of my mind was because you were so different from all the women I've been with before. So I thought that maybe if I bed you… erm, maybe if I had you… just once, I'd…" He paused and stared at her.
"Ahem…" He coughed and added,
"That I'd get you out of my system."
He was intently watching her face to see her reaction.
