Fang Anning sent Li Xiaoxiao on her way and waited for He Tingchen to come home from work. She then complained to him, hoping he would have a word with his cousin.

"He's not my responsibility, but I'll remind him. You don't need to worry about him ending up with Bai Yunzhu. The Bai family wouldn't approve of the Liao family, nor would the Liao family approve of her as a daughter-in-law," He Tingchen reassured her.
Fang Anning widened her eyes: "If the Liao family disapproves of Bai Yunzhu as a daughter-in-law, then why did Mrs. Liao go to great lengths to matchmake you and Bai Yunzhu before?"
He Tingchen smirked: "That just shows how genuine my aunt's feelings for me really are."
