Chapter 257 - The Intruder*

Third Person's POV

Ethan gave a satisfied nod.

He had been living in similar environments for the past eight years, and his dark affinity made him feel right at home amidst such shadowy elegance.

To one side, a large bathroom could be seen, although the glass wall guarding it was purposefully hazy and obscured its interior.

Beside the bed, a small cabinet rested quietly.

What caught Ethan's attention was the series of pale blue and hexagonal frost runes etched into its frame.

Peering into the misty cold emanating from within, he found multicolored cakes, pastries, and even a selection of dried fruits kept in them.

They were clearly refreshments that were intended for the customers.

Opening the cabinet, he plucked out a couple of baked cookies and crunched on one thoughtfully as he walked to the window.

Pulling aside the curtains, he gazed out.

Through the clear glass, the vast city sprawled beneath him like a sea of shadows and light.
