0.1 exterminators must know how to CLASSIFY!

P.s (Webnovel puts auxiliary chapters at the start of the book, however I would recommend you read the main story first, because these aux chapters are mostly only enjoyable if you actually care about the world. Thanks for reading!)

As this is the first of many auxiliary chapters, here's how they'll be structured:

Each will be split into two sections. The first providing lore and worldbuilding, and the second delivering the main content. This way, both audiences can be satisfied, and I can flesh out details that might not make it into the core story.

(Again, since these contain spoilers, you might want to read further in the story first.)

Lore.

Sabrina stepped onto the podium, a whiteboard behind her. In front of her stood rows of fresh recruits—maggots, as they were called in training.

"Today, I'll be teaching you how to classify myutants," she announced. Beside her, Lovecraft loomed, his sheer size doing more to intimidate the recruits than her words ever could.

"Being able to identify a myutant at a glance is an exterminator's greatest asset," she continued, her handy-dandy clipboard nestled at her side. "Knowing what you're up against changes how you react—and whether you survive or not."

"The first thing you check is size," Lovecraft said. "The more mutated a myutant gets, the bigger it becomes. That's why we categorize them into threat levels."

"Threat levels or T-levels range from one through six," Sabrina added. "T-level ones typically range from seven to nine feet tall, with only a few exceptions growing past that height. Another key indicator is regeneration—T-level ones take about ten seconds to heal."

"Can anyone tell me what regeneration speed signals in a myutant?" Lovecraft asked.

Silence. His voice alone was enough to keep them from answering.

"The fastest recorded regeneration time is six seconds," Sabrina explained. "So if you count backward and hit ten seconds, you're dealing with a T-level one. That's the easiest way to classify them. You'll learn more in today's lesson, but if you actually want to survive, read your damn textbooks."

"Of course, while those might be the main two methods, there's actually a long forgotten method used to also determine a myutants T-level," Lovecraft said, "its called the ass hair twist meth—"

A clipboard cracked over his skull.

"See you later, recruits!" Sabrina called out, waving.

As the recruits shuffled out, Lovecraft rubbed his head. "Funfact," he muttered. "On average, twenty-two out of thirty recruits die on their first missions. And those numbers were way higher during the years Sabrina cheaped out on the induction program."

"I was cutting costs, dumbass!" Sabrina snapped, smacking him with the clipboard again.

Classifications of Myutants.

ThreatLevelOne

• Size: 7–10 feet tall

• Regeneration: 10 seconds

• Traits: Second most common myutants. Skin hardens to the density of stone after regenerating. They rarely enter a state of rage and often don't even use their regeneration in fights against exterminators.

ThreatLevelTwo

• Size: 10–13 feet tall

• Regeneration: 9 seconds

• Traits: The most commonly encountered myutants. Their skin hardens to the density of metal post-regeneration. They can become enraged, but it's harder to trigger.

ThreatLevelThree

• Size: 15 feet tall

• Regeneration: 8 seconds

• Traits: Rarely found in urban areas, they primarily inhabit the depths, preying on animals and any humans unlucky enough to cross their path. Their skin hardens to the strength of hardened steel after regeneration. Unlike lower levels, they enter a rage state whenever they are wounded.

Exception–FlyingMyutants:

Flying myutants can exist at any threat level. However, those classified as T-Level Three or higher tend to be significantly smaller, averaging only around 10 feet in height. All other traits remain the same.

ThreatLevelFour

• Size: 16–20 feet tall

• Regeneration: 7 seconds

• Traits: Mutations become more evident, often granting new abilities not present in previous forms. Skin is as tough as hardened steel—though many exterminators claim it feels even stronger. Highly prone to entering a rage state.

Exception–IgnisparvaArenaclypeus (Desert Sand Spider):

A unique mutation caused by pollutant exposure granted this species the ability to produce fire from a specialized sac under its neck.

ThreatLevelFive

• Size: 21–24 feet (and a few centimeters)

• Regeneration: 6 seconds

• Traits: Skin hardens to the equivalent of prime tungsten durability. Becomes enraged from even minor scratches. Hide is tougher than most known metals.

ThreatLevelSix

• Size: 25 feet and beyond (true upper limit unknown)

• Regeneration: 5 seconds

• Traits: The rarest and most dangerous class, with only a few confirmed kills in the past century—many undocumented. Starts any battle already enraged. Their hide is as dense as ruby.

Fun Fact:

T-Level Six myutants have been observed—or at least rumored—to destroy their own ligaments, forcing regeneration to trigger their hardening process.

***********

(The Slovakian Ass Hair Twist Method)

Only applicable to mammalian myutants. The hairier their ass, the higher they rank on the T-Level chart. Obviously this was quickly stopped due to the fact you'd literally be have to be face deep in the myutants anus.
