The door opened easily, and no traps sprang forth to catch the group by surprise, much to their relief. Before them was a grand hall with the same majestic pillars lining up into two rows, disappearing into the darkness. The rarity of the wall-mounted torches only served to make the atmosphere terrifying, as if a gigantic, abysmal creature would come rushing at any time.
Thankfully, it had no mental effect on the two pairs of couples. Instead, they walked at a leisurely pace, as running through the darkness would simply be suicide.
"Ruki, have the wind warn us if there are people on the way," Lanling said as they started walking, mentally telling himself to stock up on adventuring, exploration, and general emergency supplies once they were back at the side castle.
