"Stop making noise, don't worry. Stay calm, it won't hit you. Grovyle, knock it down." Satoshi scratched his ears as Bill continued screaming in panic. "Calm down, Bill, you're not the one in danger!" But before Bill could finish his protest, Grovyle had already launched its attack.
A thick beam of energy shot from Grovyle's mouth, its terrifying power radiating even to Satoshi and Bill. Fearow attempted to dodge, but its speed was no match for the beam. Letting out a miserable screech, its wing was pierced with a large hole, sending it plummeting downward. Unable to maintain its grip, it released Bill, sending him falling as well.
"Ahhh! I'm going to die!" Bill wailed, eyes shut tightly, bracing for impact—only to find himself safely caught midair by Riolu. However, still convinced he was plummeting to his doom, he continued screaming.
"Stop shouting, you're fine now," Riolu sighed, transmitting its thoughts directly to Bill using the power of Aura. Bill, a Pokémon researcher, immediately recognized the significance of the voice in his head. His fear was instantly replaced by curiosity. "This… this is Riolu? A Pokémon from the Sinnoh Region that can use the power of Aura?" His eyes gleamed with excitement as he studied Riolu.
Meanwhile, Satoshi ignored their exchange and turned his focus back to the battlefield. The Fearow that had been struck by Solar Beam was down, but it still had some fight left in it. It attempted to feign unconsciousness, waiting for an opportunity to counterattack. Unfortunately for it, Satoshi always emphasized the importance of finishing off an opponent in battle.
Grovyle had been trained well—without hesitation, it delivered a Thunder Punch, ensuring Fearow was truly unconscious before moving on. The first Fearow had fallen due to its lack of battle experience, but the remaining two, seeing their companion defeated, decided to go all out.
One Fearow, facing Charmeleon, launched a desperate Sky Attack, deciding to take the hit from Flamethrower in order to land a critical blow. It believed that if it could take Charmeleon down with it, it might still have a chance to escape. The other Fearow, realizing it couldn't handle Frogadier head-on, opted for Mirror Move, copying Frogadier's Ice Beam in an attempt to fight back.
The battle was at its climax. Charmeleon, instead of relying on Flamethrower, used Fire Blast, a far more powerful attack that engulfed the charging Fearow. It had underestimated Charmeleon's capabilities—when the flames dissipated, the burnt and weakened Fearow collapsed, completely unconscious.
Meanwhile, Frogadier's Ice Beam battle was one-sided. Unlike Riolu's earlier encounter with Gyarados, Frogadier had a natural advantage. Its Protean ability had shifted its typing to Ice, increasing the power of its Ice Beam, while Fearow lacked any such boost. The moment the two beams clashed, Fearow's attack was shattered instantly.
Fearow struggled to retreat, but the effects of Ice Beam had frozen its wings solid. Losing its ability to stay airborne, it plummeted toward the ground. Frogadier, remembering Satoshi's teachings, fired another Ice Beam, ensuring that Fearow was completely frozen before ending the battle.

[Ding! Riolu gained experience! Level +1! Reached Level 35!]
The system seemed to have registered this as a group battle, only displaying level-up notifications after all three Fearow were defeated.
Satoshi smirked. "So fast… my Pokémon have already reached Level 35 on just the third day. I didn't even dream of leveling this quickly in my past life, yet here I am doing it effortlessly." He glanced at his Pokémon. "Just one more level, and they'll all evolve."
He knew he needed to reach the next city soon, but there was still time. "I'll probably evolve them all tomorrow… for now, let's finish the mission."
Gesturing toward Riolu, he signaled for it to bring Bill along as they made their way toward the Cape Cottage.
