[Main Quest (2): The King's Power (Completed)]
After glancing at the rewards, Phoenix didn't think twice and claimed the task rewards. Crystals, Ai-chan Exclusive Coins, gold coins, and Experience Chips instantly increased by a significant amount.
However, Phoenix didn't pay much attention to these. The main appeal was the free optimization and free enhancements for her powers.
As Phoenix had mentioned earlier, a Campione's powers are fixed. No matter how long you've been a Campione, you simply become more proficient in using them.
But you can't enhance the power's strength further.
These powers are like fixed ultimate skills.
However, after optimizing through the System, Phoenix can leave this Campione world with these powers. The potency of these abilities wouldn't diminish due to the change in world. In fact... they could even break through fixed limitations, allowing the powers to continue enhancing.
Only then did Phoenix finally understand why a single power enhancement and optimization cost so much.
This was one of the main reasons.
It's worth noting that a ticket to a new world only costs 2400 Crystals. Spending five or six thousand Crystals at a whim is terrifying. This pricing scheme finally made sense.
Despite having a free enhancement and optimization available, Phoenix didn't use it immediately.
While Phoenix currently possessed several decent powers, what if there were even better ones out there?
Using them now might lead to tears later if better options appeared...
Since there was no urgency, waiting until departure to make a decision seemed reasonable.
As soon as the rewards for Main Quest (2) were claimed, Main Quest (3) appeared.
[Main Quest (3): The Heroic Deed of Godslaying]
[Quest Summary: As a Campione, what does it mean to merely kill a few Heretic Gods?]
[Quest Description: Within two years, slay 15 Heretic Gods and become a true Campione.]
[Quest Progress: (2/15)]
[Rewards: 2000 Crystals, 1111 Ai-chan Exclusive Coins, 10 Precision Cards.]...
"Kill 15 Heretic Gods within two years? That many? Are there really that many Heretic Gods in this world?"
Staring at the quest before her, Phoenix froze mid-chew. Although Heretic Gods were a unique feature of this world, the number of gods who had broken free from their mythologies was actually quite limited.
Some had even been forcibly dragged out of their myths by others.
Phoenix carefully counted, but no matter how she calculated, there weren't enough to reach 13 Heretic Gods. Even including those summoned through the miko's rituals, the total still fell short.
However, the rewards were quite substantial.
Even with Phoenix's substantial Crystal reserves, the sight of 2,000 Crystals, 1,111 Ai-chan Exclusive Coins, and 10 Precision Cards still made her eyes gleam with envy.
"Ai-chan, come explain this!"
A task couldn't possibly require an impossible completion. There had to be a way. But even counting all the Heretic Gods, plus those summoned worldwide by miko and witches, it still wasn't enough.
That left only one option—Ai-chan!
[Don't worry, boss. Just check the shop's inventory.]
"Shop?"
Phoenix froze momentarily before mentally accessing the shop interface. After a brief search, she found something relevant—a card-like item.
"Heretic God Summon Card?"
[Heretic God Summon Card]
[Effect: Without any cost, randomly summons a mythological god, demon, angel, immortal, or Buddha to the mortal realm. (Only usable in the "Campione World".)]
[Price: 1,000 Crystals]
"No consumption required. Forces a god into the earth, transforming them into a Heretic God..."
This item would indeed be immensely helpful for Phoenix, but the price... a thousand Crystals? That gave her pause.
Don't be deceived by the fact that the two Heretic Gods she had slain previously were worth several thousand Crystals in total.
One of them had been a God King comparable to God himself, while the other was second-in-command of Heaven. She'd only obtained multiple divine powers through sheer luck.
This card summoned randomly. If it summoned an obscure, weak Heretic God, even after defeating them and claiming their powers, the total value might not exceed 52 Crystals.
After all, in this world teeming with gods, most are minor deities or divine beasts.
It was essentially gambling Crystals on luck.
Good luck meant completing the task and turning a profit. Bad luck... might mean not even having enough Crystals to complete the main quest.
"Still... my luck probably won't be too bad, right? Even if I can't make a fortune, I shouldn't lose too much..."
This was a gamble, but Phoenix had no choice but to take the risk. She could only hope her luck would hold.
She'd need to find a suitable location for the summoning in a couple of days. But... she couldn't neglect the task of gathering high-level witches and miko either. Phoenix had already obtained three divine artifacts from the Church of the Cross.
By having the miko and witches perform a summoning ritual, she could call forth the owners of these divine artifacts. These beings were no less powerful than Michael himself, making their value self-evident.
Especially the artifacts belonging to Gabriel and Satan, the Lord of Hell.
Don't ask why the Church of the Cross possessed Satan's divine artifact. It was quite normal; they hadn't used it at all, but kept it sealed away.
And now it had come into Phoenix's possession.
In the afternoon, Phoenix continued to immerse herself in the ocean of demonic knowledge, having already begun preparing to study these demonic teachings.
Though Phoenix the Immortal's power could indeed make her invincible in this world, especially with the divine key's assistance, she wouldn't care about anyone.
But what about the next world?
While I could switch between Valkyries' bodies and even purchase full-level experience cards, this approach relied too heavily on these "consumables." In the long run, such dependency wouldn't be sustainable.
Now, a complete system of power lay right before my eyes. Though its destructive capabilities might not be overwhelming, having another method at my disposal was undeniably advantageous.
Moreover, many magical arts proved remarkably useful in daily life.
"King, Erica requests an audience!"
While Phoenix was attempting to cultivate magic, Erica's voice called from outside the closed Library.
This made Phoenix pause her magical studies and calmly reply, "Enter."
"Yes, King."
