The integration of the demon lands into the goblin kingdom's growing territory was no small feat, so there was a lot of work to be done. Teams of goblin engineers, ogre laborers, and orc warriors moved into the region under Lance's direction, making efforts to assess the land's potential.
As for the issue with the corruption, Lance was very positive they could handle it after taking a look. While trying to fix Rusak's original beast tribe territory, they had found that the corruption in the land was intense, and though they eventually found two ways to fight it, it was difficult and a slow process. The reason was because the cause of it was not only due to magic, but other physical and chemical factors.
