House Of The Heart.
"Gloom, today is your first mission as the Number One Harbringer." Arlecchino reminded, sounding oddly worried, "Listen... You can back out of it if you want." She informed, knowing that this mission might be a lot more difficult than the regular ones.
That connotation didn't make Gloom back down however, "Father I understand your concern, but I need to do this." She insisted, checking the edge of her scythe to make sure, "...If you insist I won't try to persuade you..." Arlecchino relented, walking away to let Gloom prepare in peace.
The idea of her first mission in this new position excited Gloom, but it did worry her a bit, this would definetly be harder, but she didn't really know what it was, only that it required her to be in Mondstadt.
"Okay I can do this." Gloom told herself, going out to get to Mondstadt, and when she got there, the first thing that caught her eye was the wind barrier surrounding the town, "What the hell?" She muttered and used her tentacles to climb over the wall and head toward the closest Knight of Favonius.
The closest knight happened to be Amber, "Hey Outrider, what's the situation?" Gloom questioned, tilting her head slightly, "Oh you must be the new Harbringer!" Amber exclaimed in realization, "Well- We don't know! These... Things started approaching from somewhere!" She explained pointing to the gate where Venti was making the barrier.
This information confused Gloom quite a bit, "Can you be more specific?" She requested, but Amber looked unsure, "These... Red and black animal things with white masks." Amber described further, but still didn't sound that confident in the description, "...I'll do with that." Gloom responded and headed to the gate where she spotted about what Amber described.
As she passed Venti Gloom asked "Do you know what these are?" and was met with "I heard along the wind that they're generally known as Grimm and they come from Remnant." He informed, opening a passage in the barrier through which Gloom went.
Now face to face with the Grimm, Gloom quickly pulled out her scythe and sliced off the claw off of a wolf looking Grimm, causing it to recoil backwards, "Soft skinned." She commented, snapping a tentacle around it's neck and pulling it close, allowing her to slice it off.
With about seven of these wolf things left, she proceeded to quickly whip out two tentacles to grab two and slam them against the others while also pulling the two closer, but the Grimm realized that so they tried to slice the tentacles off, however Gloom removed the tentacles while pulling, making them stumble on the ground where Gloom spun her scythe in a circle, slicing their legs and waist apart.
Turning to face the group of three on the left, Gloom shot her tentacles out of her back and into the ground, launching herself at the Grimm, and before retracting the tentacles, she used them to yank the monsters towards her and with a quick swing severed their arms off, and now turned to the last two while Knights came out of the town to deal with the crippled ones.
Gloom rushed forward to finish it quickly, but before she could actually strike, she felt a weird energy coursing through her, and it told her something was wrong, causing her to quickly turn around and subconsciously create a wall of an unknown substance that took the brunt of an impact, but not all of it.
This made Gloom wake up and sit up immediately, where she looked around and realized she was in her house which was attached to her meadery, "What the- where- how-... Oh... It was a dream..." She said in relief, reaching for her Vision on the nightstand for comfort and looked at her feet, or rather... Foot.
"Truly an unforgettable first day..." She said while moving to get the prosthetic foot Sandrone made for her, "I wonder why I dreamt that..." She thought outloud, but then just shrugged, "Must have been cause Shimmer mentioned Remnant." She rationalized and went on with her day.
