Armaros drank the water as he kept on walking on the path. He didn't want to camp outside at night, he will do so if it was necessary but at this moment he wants to get to the village and the path is there and he isn't seeing any monsters so he is quite glad about that.
'A part of me is wondering why I haven't encountered any monsters yet, but I'm not gonna question it now.' Armaros thought to himself as he took some food out and started to eat it while walking.
And for the next two hours he kept on walking while keeping alert to make sure that he isn't taken by surprise. But then he stopped as he managed to spot a village as his eyes widened as he felt relief at that.
"So that is the village." Armaros said as he sighed to himself at finally being able to reach the village.
His felt a new surge of energy as he saw the village as he increased his pace as he walked towards the village while being ready to fight. He just hoped that the people in the village wouldn't have a problem with an adventurer coming to their home at night.
After some more walking, he managed to get near the village and he was surprised to see that the village has stone houses and a wall around the village as well. And he saw that there were two guards stationed at the entrance.
'Weren't they supposed to be a village which didn't have much contact with the town due to being in such a place like this?' Armaros thought to himself as he looked to the left and right as the walls were going there.
He walked to the village and the two guards were already ready as they looked at him as he took out his pamplet and adventurer card to make sure that he isn't misunderstood.
"Who are you boy?" The guard on the right asked as he looked at him whil gripping his spear.
"I'm an adventurer who had taken the mission to taking a look at the village and report your status." Armaros said for the two to hear.
They visibly relaxed when he said that as the one on the right side took the pamplet and the adventurer card and checked it before he smiled at him.
"Alright, it's good to have you here adventurer. I'm sure it would be good for the guild to know that we are doing fine. I'm sure you want to talk to our chief?" The guard said as he gave the things back to him with a smile.
"Yeah. I do. And I would like to have a place to stay. If you have, otherwise I can stay outside." Armaros said to them politely.
"Oh it's no problem for us. Come on. Our chief was expecting an adventurer to come to our village anyways." The guard said to him with a smile.
"Thank you." Armaros said as he walked through the gate.
As he entered the village, he saw that people were still out of their house and his appearance had caught their attention as they looked at him with intrigue and curiousity, though he guessed that it was the normal reaction when someone they don't know suddenly appears at their village.
"Excuse me, I want to meet with the village chief. Is it possible?" Armaros asked a passerby as he looked at him.
"Of course you can see the chief. He will be at his home, you just have to go to his house. It's in the middle of the village. His home is the largest in our village, you just have to go this way to reach him." The man said to him as the boy nodded.
"Thank you." Armaros said as he walked forward.
'If I walk this way then I will surely reach the house.' Armaros thought to himself as he walked through the place.
People were looking at him as he walked past them, they were all wearing what he would expect from villagers, but the quality was quite good. Their houses were also in good condition and they seem to be quite healthy as well.
'Do they make their own supplies? Considering where they are. It might be the case.' Armaros thought to himself as he walked through the streets.
And as per the instructions of the man, he was now in front of the largest building in the village as he is impressed with the fact that a village that is very far away from normal civilization is able to make such a good home.
He walked forward and told the guard about the reason as to why he is there and showed his Adventurer card as the man told him to wait with the other guard as Armaros waited in place.
'Now that I am just standing here. There seems to be something different about this house, or there was something inside the house.' Armaros thought to himself as he looked at the house with a stoic face.
After a few moments the door opened and the guard allowed him to enter as he saw a man who looked to be in his fourties greet him with a smile. There were four maids as well on either side of the door as they bowed to him respectfully.
"Welcome. I am the chief of this village. I presume that you are here to check up on our village on behalf of the adventurers guild?" The chief said to him with a smile.
"Yes. This is the quest." Armaros said as he gave the pamplet to him.
"Well it has been a while since we have seen an adventurer here. And such a young child as well, you must be quite skilled to follow the path and come here all alone." The chief said to him with a smile.
"It was hard but I wanted to get here as quickly as possible. By the way, I never knew the name of your village." Armaros said as he looked at the chief curiously.
"Ah yes, not many think that we have a name since we live in such a secluded place. The name of my village is Lucia." The chief said to him with a smile.
'Lucia huh.' Armaros thought to himself at hearing that.
"Yes, our village was established 2000 years ago." The chief said with a smile on his face.
"2000 years ago?" Armaros said as he looked at the man in surprise.
"Yes, this village was established 2000 years ago after the Demon War had ended. The great hero Lucius Dawnbringer was the one who protected our ancestors and saved them from the attack of the demons. We established the village after the war and named ourselves after him to honour the great hero." The chief said with a nostalgic look as Armaros looked at the man in surprise.
'This village is made of the people saved by the progenitor?' Armaros thought to himself in surprise as he looked at the man.
"I'm sure that you must be skeptical about that claim yes. Why don't I show you something?" The chief said to him with a smile.
"What do you want to show me?" Armaros asked as his curiosity was peaked.
"Just follow me." The chief said to him as he turned around and walked to the stairs.
Armaros looked at the maids who just smiled and gestured for him to follow the chief and he did so as he was curious about what the man wanted to show him. He followed the man to a room as he looked at the desk, couch and shelf with books and other things in there.
'This might be his office.' Armaros thought to himself as he looked at the man.
But then his focus went to the case hanging on the wall behind the chief with a sword inside of it as he was surprised at the sight of the sword as the chief gestured to it with a smile.
"This was a sword that was used by the great Hero Lucius before he had gotten his legendary blade and lance. Though this is one of many swords that he owned, he saw my ancestors fit to keep this sword." The chief said as he looked at the sword with fondness.
Armaros himself looked at the sword in surprise as he is able to feel a sort of connection to the sword l, even if it's faint he can feel that the sword has some kind of connection to him, and since he is a member of the Dawnbringers and this was supposedly the sword owned by his ancestor, then...
'Could this place actually have been protected by him?' Armaros couldn't help but think as he looked at the sword.
