Toga Himiko hesitated for a few seconds before whispering,
"Ezaki-kun… Are you here to knock me out again and drag me back?"
Ezaki Kitazawa rolled his eyes at her, then waved his hand dismissively.
"Don't get the wrong idea. I'm not here for anything like that. I just wanted to say congratulations on getting your memories back."
To Ezaki Kitazawa, it was a good thing she had regained her memories. He couldn't leave her stuck in a rented apartment forever, and he didn't have the time to keep dealing with her either.
Hearing his words, Toga Himiko was momentarily stunned. She had thought he came to capture her again, but he was only here to congratulate her.
"Really?"
"Of course. What else?"
Ezaki Kitazawa glanced at her, then continued,
"By the way, thanks for everything during that time. And… good luck."
With that, he dragged his suitcase and walked away. Toga Himiko watched his back, feeling an unfamiliar emotion stir inside her.
After hesitating for a few seconds, she suddenly used her Quirk to transform into someone else and quickly caught up to him.
"Hey, Ezaki-kun… Can I still come find you to hang out?"
Ezaki Kitazawa gave her a sideways glance.
"What? Aren't you afraid I might get the urge to knock you out again?"
"Hehehe…"
"Ezaki-kun is a good person."
"Who told you that? You've just seen my good side. If I ever lose control—"
Before he could finish, Toga Himiko interrupted him.
"I know… If you lose control, you'd even kill yourself."
Ezaki Kitazawa looked at her in confusion.
"???"
"Did I say something wrong? When I first lost my memories, I saw you stabbing yourself."
It was clear that she had mistaken his self-inflicted wounds from practicing his Healing Quirk as an attempt at suicide. But he didn't bother explaining.
"Yeah… You're right. That's why you shouldn't come looking for me. If I'd kill myself, what makes you think I wouldn't do the same to you?"
"I don't mind! I won't make you mad."
"As long as you're happy."
"Okay!"
Toga Himiko stopped in her tracks and called out one last time before turning back into the alley.
Meanwhile, Ezaki Kitazawa finally arrived home.
His parents weren't home, but he was already used to that. After setting down his luggage, he collapsed onto the couch.
The next second, he opened his status panel.
Host: Ezaki Kitazawa
Quirk: Hellfire Lava (316/3000)
Wood (100/1000) - Enough EXP to advance
Creation Regeneration (210/1500)
Ultimate Martial Arts Mastery (206/1000)
Generation Points: 200 (Meets the requirement for generating a new Quirk)
Inventory: Evolution Card x1
After scanning through the details, Ezaki Kitazawa immediately sat up.
"I've reached the requirement to advance?"
Muttering to himself, he wasted no time clicking the upgrade option.
Ding! Advancing Quirk will consume one Evolution Card. Do you want to proceed?
Ezaki Kitazawa clicked the panel without any hesitation.
"Ding! Quirk advancement successful."
Unlike the last advancement, this time, he didn't feel any pain at all. As the system notification faded, the panel updated:
Host: Ezaki Kitazawa
Quirk:
- Hellfire Lava (316/3000)
- Forest of Death (0/300)
- Creation Regeneration (210/1500)
- Ultimate Martial Arts Mastery (206/1000)
Generation Points: 200 (Enough to create a new Quirk)
Inventory: None
"Forest of Death?"
Ezaki Kitazawa paused for a moment, then slowly raised his arm. Immediately, his arm transformed into a wood-like material. The difference this time was that a black mist appeared along with the transformation.
"Well, it really does match the 'death' theme..."
He muttered to himself before his arm returned to normal. Turning his attention back to the panel, he continued, "Now that I have two advanced Quirks, if I remember correctly, I've met the requirement to create a new one."
He tapped the "Create Quirk" button.
"Ding! Creating a new Quirk will consume 100 Generation Points. Proceed?"
Ezaki Kitazawa didn't hesitate. After all, keeping the Generation Points wouldn't do him any good. Just as he confirmed the action, a sharp pain suddenly shot through his eyes. He clenched them shut and crouched down as bright red blood trickled from the corners of his eyes.
After several seconds, the pain subsided. Slowly, he opened his eyes, only to see that his hands were covered in fresh blood.
"Could it be that this time..."
Quickly, he looked at the panel again:
Host: Ezaki Kitazawa
Quirk:
- Hellfire Lava (316/3000)
- Forest of Death (0/300)
- Creation Regeneration (210/1500)
- Ultimate Martial Arts Mastery (206/1000)
- Magic Eyes (0/500)
Generation Points: 200 (Enough to create a new Quirk)

"Just as I thought... No wonder I didn't feel pain anywhere else—this time, I got an eye-related Quirk."
Muttering to himself, Ezaki Kitazawa went to the bathroom, washed the blood off his face, and looked closely in the mirror. His eyes looked the same as before. But the moment he activated his Demon Eyes Quirk, his pupils turned completely blood red.
Suddenly—
