Chapter 80 - Getting Along - Chapter 2

He placed his fist into his palm, building up the resolve to follow through and try his best in the upcoming days. Hoping for a change of heart from his uninterested partner, for the betterment of their further relationship at this point. He remembered Rita having to deal with the worst at the bar, so how bad could another student be?

He retrieved his pillow and threw it back onto the bed, making sure he could prepare to sleep. He walked to the other door in his room that led to a small yet quaint bathroom. He looked at the surroundings in marvel as he'd never had one of his own. He looked into the large mirror above the sink and looked at his reflection with determination.

"I'll make sure to become friends with her, just you wait…!"

The next day had come. With his new, motivated whim about himself, Dante had built up some confidence to try his best to make things work with Iris. He walked along the campus grounds happily as it seemed he had an extra pep in his step. Some of the students passed glances as he walked by, noticing not only his different attire than the rest of them, but his ranking which was placed on the back of his cloak caused so much jesting.

"Go get 'em zero stars!"

"Yeah, give them a show!"

Dante turned at the response and gave a confident toothy grin, not realizing the two hecklers were mocking him rather than motivating him.

"You bet I will!"

He continued on his way to the main building to reach his class, seeing everyone talk amongst themselves as they prepared for the day. Though he realized he hadn't seen Iris at any time of the morning yet, he shrugged it off as he mentally prepared himself and began to head down the dark staircase he set foot on once more. Each step provided an echo down the narrow staircase, Dante seemed to have become pretty adjusted to the surroundings as he was able to find the room once again.

"She'll see just how hard it is to brush me off!" he thought to himself before placing his hand on the doorknob and opening the old crickety door. Some students sat in the class, already sitting with their designated partners discussing different topics. Dante knew he'd appeared pretty early, but he didn't expect there to be this many people there already. His eyes scavenged the room until he spotted the olive-haired elf sitting alone in the corner of the classroom. She seemed to be pretty focused as her pen was moving quickly in her hand. He peered as he approached, seeing it was a personal book.
