"I don't wanna go in there! No, no, no!" Mya yelled as she began to kick and complain. Dillon and Baxter began attempting to pull her into what ended up turning out to be their usual hangout.
"C'mon you big baby! There's nothing in here!"
"Y-yeah…nothing to be afraid of."
"You don't know that! There could be all sorts of bugs, wild animals…even a monster! I don't want to go, you can't make me!" She screamed out as she began kicking her feet in rejection of the idea, causing the two to back off. Tears formed in her eyes as she began to pout, she knew they'd been looking for somewhere to hang out for some time, and that the boys had taken their time trying to find such a place, but she couldn't get over her fear of bugs, nor wild animals.
"I'm sorry, I just…"
A hand touched her head as she looked up to see an all too familiar face. Dante had appeared and looked at the cave, inspecting it from the outside and sniffing the air. He looked back at her and smiled widely as if to give her some reassurance.
"It seems pretty safe, but you want to make sure right?"
She began to wipe her eyes quickly with her sleeve and nodded softly, as Dante reached out to pull on his jacket.
"Grab onto my jacket if you're worried. I'll walk in with you to make sure everything's clear. Would that help?" he asked, causing her to quickly take hold of his jacket. Feeling a sense of relief with someone being there to protect her in the case of something appearing. Dante had always been someone who was stupidly brave for what it was worth in her mind, but he was someone she'd rely on to take care of any loose animals or bugs that'd appear as she had always been deathly afraid of them. She held on tightly, as the group slowly walked into the cave.
With each step into the dark cave, the group heard each step of their footsteps touch over the rough and dried leaves scattered amongst the ground. Dante walked confidently as each of his steps were followed by smaller ones.
