Chapter 9 - The K.L.T slaughter

His fingers pressed the button labelled with the number one, an almost tangible tension crept into the room—a silent promise of what was to come. elderly Dimitri Krylov was dialling on the land phone placed on the table.

The line connected, and through the static, Maria's voice answered. With a calm yet deliberate tone, Dimitri declared,

"Hello, Maria initiate code green."

to which she replied, "Okay, sir!"

The atmosphere metamorphosed into an arena of impending chaos. All the guards, staff, and workers went crazy as they witnessed an explosion on the higher floors. These moments were being captured on CCTV. The reason for this havoc was none other than Victor Montana.

As the tension and risks in their life engulfed them, frantically dialling officers at headquarters in the vain hope of halting the monstrous acts Victor had set in motion. while Victor on the other hand-

"Who the FUCK is hiding killers of my SON!!!"

The room was a chaotic tapestry of humanity, each thread representing a different walk of life. Victor stormed in, his presence like a thunderclap that silenced the murmurs. His muscles strained, veins bulging as he pushed his strength to its very limits.

But it wasn't enough—not for him. From his pocket, he retrieved a vial of something sinister, a concoction that promised power at a cost. He consumed it without hesitation, and the transformation was immediate. His rage, already a roaring inferno, erupted into an uncontrollable blaze, consuming reason and restraint. The air seemed to crackle with the sheer force of his fury, leaving everyone in the room frozen in a mix of awe and dread.

His entrance was like a storm breaking through the room, the door hanging broken and defeated in his wake. he said with a sharp and venomous, cut through the fearful murmurs like a blade:

"You're all trapped here with me. If the one with the guts to commit such an atrocity doesn't step forward, I'll start killing everyone in this room."

An uneasy murmur rippled through the room as if hearts collectively skipped a beat beneath the eerie glow of that shattered doorway.

Whispers of escape mingled with subdued terror, each voice carrying a desperate, exotic lilt of hope and despair. But Victor's piercing gaze, cold and final, dispelled their mutterings with the silent promise of retribution—a reminder that for far too long, the killer had wandered free.

The scene shifted to an immaculate corridor of the ACIB headquarters, where Zayne Blackthorn was sitting in his office when a single headline shattered the veneer of calm. News of Victor's rampage in K.L.T had slashed through routine, and soon the head officer also came rushing in...

"Hey Zayne, are you seeing the news!"

"No... but is it something related to Montanans going crazy?" Zayne replied, his voice measured despite the weight of the revelation.

"WHAT are you doing? Hurry your ass out to that location faster!" the officer demanded, shock and desperation mingling in his words.

"Okay sir, okay!" came the brisk response.

"Keep me informed about everything that goes down there," he added, his command laced with a tense, unyielding resolve.

In a heartbeat, Zayne surged through the gate, urgency radiating from every step. Without a pause, he snatched his keys and plunged into his car, its engine roaring as it devoured the night. Road rules dissolved into insignificance his entire focus fixed on the looming, ominous silhouette of the K.L.T tower.

High above the city, a helicopter maintained a steady altitude, its cameras capturing every unfolding detail as reporters broadcast the live scene.

Suddenly, a series of thunderous explosions erupted from within a nearby building. The blasts filled the air with a deafening roar, yet, remarkably, the structure remained standing.

Questions arose on the stream among the people watching the news, few individuals supported Montana's actions in causing destruction, and others stood firmly against it.

While inside the tower,

"Come out You Fucking RAT BASTARDS!!! I'll destroy this whole FUCKING BUILDING!!"

The K.L.T. Tower was plunged into darkness, its halls echoing with desperate cries. Some lay gravely injured, others had already succumbed to the chaos. Amid the blackout, survivors pleaded for mercy, their voices trembling with fear. All of this unfolded live on television.

At the ACIB headquarters, the chief—his expression one of shock and disbelief-stated,

"That is a massacre without even knowing any bloody details..."

In a swift scene change back inside the tower, Dimitri's office

"You need to STOP your brother, Garfin!"

Moments later, as the heated exchange escalated, a retort broke through the turmoil:

"Where are your manners?"

"I-I'm sorry, Mr. Garfin please excuse me for my rude behaviour." came the tentative apology.

Garfin's eyes narrowed as he replied in a taunting tone, his words laced with sarcasm and accompanied by a cynical laugh, "Yeah, you'd better know where you stand."

He paused briefly before adding, "And in case of stopping him, I guess I don't want to~"

Dimitri, visibly shocked by Garfin's cavalier response, interjected, "You already know that the killer isn't here!"

A sly and devious smile remained on Garfin's face as he spoke "Who cares about that, I just like bloodshed... Hehe."

His laughter lingered in the air before he continued,

"Anyways, I love how this is going. I still need to find the one who did this, and I wish you the best! Try to survive, my brother. After all, you did survive me... or was it that I let you live?"

Dimitri's anger simmered beneath the surface, and Garfin revelled in the chaos. Garfin, clearly enjoying Dimitri's turmoil. Dimitri continued to speak

"You were the great one... who had spared me."

Garfin moved toward the window, his focus unwavering as Dimitri's words faded into the background. The instant his hand brushed against the glass, he vanished.

"Hmm... That helicopter is quite noisy~"

The helicopter's blades spun with relentless force, whipping the surrounding air into a turbulent gust that sent Garfin's coat billowing dramatically. Inside, the passengers remained unaware of his audacious presence. Yet there he was—balancing atop the rotating blades, completely unfazed by the ever-present wind.

"Mind your own business!"

As his words faded, a vivid red sphere materialized around him and the helicopter. The eerie glow instantly plunged the cabin into chaos. The pilot's voice cracked through the tumult as he shouted,

"What is happening? There's no signal, no air... nothing is working!"

The urgency of the situation was overwhelming, From a distance, Zayne's car could be seen racing toward the gates of the K.L.T. Tower before coming to a sudden halt.

As Zayne swung open his car door, time seemed to slow. he witness the helicopter hurtling toward the tower at a high speed.

In an instant, it collided with the structure, unleashing a devastating explosion. The blast sent shockwaves ripping through the air, scattering debris and plunging the scene into utter chaos.
