Chapter 109 - wandering dragon

As the sun rose over the mountain cave, Tharros stirred, stretching his wings and yawning. He gently nudged me with his snout, trying to rouse me from my slumber.

"Good morning, my son," I said, smiling at Tharros.

The other dragons began to stir, and Thyriatrix asked, "What shall we do first?" Tharros exclaimed, "Let's go on a treasure hunt!" The others chimed in unison, "Yes, let's do it!"

I smiled, "Very well, my loves. Let's go on a treasure hunt. But first, we need to have breakfast." The dragons cheered, eager to start their adventure.

I smiled, "Very well, my loves. Let's go on a treasure hunt. But first, we need to have breakfast."

They nodded and I go out to do some hunting.

Pov Tharros

As I watched Father head out to hunt for breakfast, I couldn't help but feel a thrill of excitement. The treasure hunt was going to be so much fun! I looked around at my siblings, who were all chattering and buzzing with anticipation.

Lyriath was bouncing up and down, his navy blue and dark red scales glistening in the morning light. Vyraxys was grinning, his dark bronze scales shining with excitement. Nyxoria and Lyrixa were whispering to each other, their amethyst and rose gold scales sparkling with curiosity.

Kaidorix, Kieraxys, and Niamon were all chattering and laughing, their forest green, copper, and lavender scales shining with joy. I smiled, feeling happy to be surrounded by my loving family.

We all waited patiently for Father to return with breakfast, our stomachs growling with hunger. But we knew it would be worth the wait, because we were going on a treasure hunt!

As I continued to wait for Father's return, I couldn't help but think about all the exciting things we might find on our treasure hunt. Would we discover hidden caves, sparkling jewels, or ancient artifacts? The possibilities were endless, and my imagination was running wild.

Suddenly, I heard the sound of Father's wings beating as he returned with breakfast. We all turned to face him, our eyes shining with excitement. Father landed gracefully, his albino scales glistening in the morning light.

"Ah, my loves," he said, setting down a delicious-looking spread of food. "Let's eat and then we'll be off on our adventure!" We all cheered and dug in, savoring the tasty meal.

Father, look at me. "And by the way, I won't be joining on the treasure hunt!" He said.

Wait, what? I felt a surge of disappointment and confusion. "Why not, Father?" I asked, my voice filled with a mix of surprise and concern.

Father's expression was serious, and he looked at me with a hint of sadness in his eyes. "I'm afraid I have some important matters to attend to, Tharros. But I'll make sure Mother is with you, and you'll all have a great time on your treasure hunt."

I looked over at Mother, who was watching us with a warm smile. I felt a little better knowing she would be with us, but I still couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment that Father wouldn't be joining us.

I question, "What important matters are you doing?"

Father's expression turned thoughtful, and he hesitated for a moment before responding. "Let's just say it's something that requires my attention, Tharros. It's not something to worry about, but it's something I need to take care of."

He didn't seem to want to elaborate, and I sensed that it was something serious. I nodded, trying to understand, but my curiosity was piqued. What could be more important than spending time with us on our treasure hunt?

I frowned, and my ears folded back. "Oh, why not, father! Just tell me!" I gave Father a puppy dog eyes, and father couldn't resisted.

Father chuckled and his expression softened. "Alright, alright, Tharros. I'll tell you." He paused, looking around at the rest of the family, who were all watching with interest. "There's been some... unusual activity in the nearby mountains. Some strange noises and movements have been reported, and I need to go and investigate."

He leaned in, his voice taking on a more serious tone. "But I don't want you to worry, Tharros. It's probably nothing to be concerned about, but as a dragon, it's my duty to check it out and make sure everything is safe."

I sighed and nodded. "Oh right, father," my ears still folded back.

Father smiled and gently nudged me with his snout. "Don't be like that, Tharros. I'll make it up to you, I promise. Now, go enjoy your treasure hunt with Mother and your siblings. I'll be back before you know it."

I nodded, still feeling a bit disappointed, but trying to be understanding. Father gave me a gentle nuzzle before turning to leave. I watched him go, feeling a mix of emotions.

Pov Aetherius

As I flew away from my family, I couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt for not being able to join them on their treasure hunt. But I knew that my duties as a dragon couldn't be put off, no matter how much I wanted to spend time with my loved ones.

I soared through the skies, my albino scales glistening in the sunlight as I made my way to the nearby mountains. I had a feeling that something was amiss, and I needed to investigate.

As I flew, I thought about my family and how much I loved them. Tharros's disappointed face still lingered in my mind, but I knew that I had to put my responsibilities first. I would make it up to him, I promised myself.

As an hour passed, I arrived at my invasigate site to see what caused the strange noise.

As I landed on a nearby ridge, I surveyed the area, my eyes scanning the terrain for any signs of disturbance. The strange noise had been reported to be coming from a small cave system, and I was determined to get to the bottom of it.

I approached the cave entrance, my senses on high alert. The air was quiet, with only the occasional rustle of leaves or chirping of birds breaking the silence. I cautiously made my way inside, my eyes adjusting to the dim light.

The cave was narrow and winding, with jagged rocks and twisted formations jutting out from the walls. I navigated the twists and turns, my scales scraping against the rough stone as I made my way deeper into the cave.

I whispered "Hello is someone there?"

My voice echoed off the cave walls, and I strained my ears to listen for any response. The silence was oppressive, and I held my breath, waiting to see if anyone - or anything - would answer.

Suddenly, I heard a faint rustling sound, followed by the faint whisper of movement. It was soft and subtle, but my dragon senses were attuned to even the slightest vibrations.

I froze, my ears perked up and my eyes fixed on the darkness ahead. The movement seemed to be coming from deeper within the cave, and I could feel a presence lurking just out of sight.

I am getting unpatience, so I yelled "OK WHO EVER BEEN MAKING THESE NOISE FOR THE PASS FEW DAYS OR WHATEVER JUST SAY SOMETHING OR COME TOWERDS ME!"

My booming voice echoed off the cave walls, causing the air to vibrate with the force of my words. The rustling sound stopped, and an oppressive silence fell over the cave.

For a moment, nothing happened. Then, a faint whisper of movement began again, this time growing louder and more deliberate. I could sense that whatever was making the noise was slowly emerging from the darkness.

Suddenly, a figure stepped out of the shadows, its presence illuminated by the faint light filtering into the cave. My eyes narrowed, and I prepared for a confrontation, unsure of what to expect.

I question, "Hello? Who are you and what are you?"

The figure hesitated, its features still shrouded in the dim light of the cave. For a moment, I thought it might retreat back into the shadows, but then it took a step forward, its presence growing more defined.

As it moved closer, I saw that it was a young dragon, its scales a mottled mix of grays and browns. It looked worn and weary, with a hint of fear in its eyes.

"I... I'm Lyrien," the dragon stammered, its voice barely above a whisper. "I'm a... a wanderer. I've been traveling through these mountains for days, trying to find a safe place to rest."

Lyrien's eyes darted around the cave, as if searching for an escape route or a potential threat. I could sense its wariness, but also a deep-seated exhaustion. Something about its story didn't quite add up, and my instincts told me to proceed with caution.

I disappointed sighed "Ok, you been making strange noise for the past few, whatever long that they sent me to invasigate! And to miss my hatchling tressure hunt and send a strong dragon like me here!" I slammed my claws on to my face.

I felt a surge of frustration and disappointment wash over me as I realized the magnitude of the situation. Lyrien's eyes widened in surprise, and it took a step back, as if intimidated by my outburst.

"N-no, it's not that," Lyrien stammered, its voice trembling. "I didn't mean to cause any trouble. I was just... hiding. I've been running from something, and I didn't know where else to go."

Lyrien's words trailed off, and it looked up at me with a desperate expression. "Please, you have to believe me. I'm not a threat. I'm just... lost."

I sighed, feeling a mix of emotions. Part of me wanted to stay angry, but another part of me saw the desperation in Lyrien's eyes and felt a pang of sympathy. I lowered my claws from my face and regarded Lyrien with a more measured gaze.

I question, "Ok where you live, Mr. or mrs. Whatever gender you are, lyrien!"

Lyrien hesitated, its eyes darting around the cave as if searching for an escape route or a way to avoid answering my question. "I... I don't really have a home, per se," Lyrien said finally, its voice barely above a whisper. "I've been traveling for a long time, and I've been living in these mountains for... for as long as I can remember."

Lyrien's gaze dropped, and it seemed to shrink into itself, as if ashamed of its circumstances. "I used to live with my clan, but... but we had to leave. We were forced to flee, and I've been on my own ever since."

Lyrien's words were laced with a deep sadness, and I could sense the weight of its loneliness. I regarded Lyrien with a more sympathetic ear, my curiosity piqued. What could have driven Lyrien's clan to flee, and what was it running from now?

I question "Ok what clan do you live? Is it the stormsurge or skyblade clan?"

I look at lyrien concern "if you are from the stormsurge Clan! This clan rival! Well, I do not know if they don't give us a reason!"

Lyrien's eyes widened in alarm, and it took a step back, its voice barely above a whisper. "No, no, I'm not from the Stormsurge Clan," it said hastily. "I'm from... the Nightshade Clan."

I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. The Nightshade Clan was a lesser-known clan, and I hadn't heard much about them in recent years. "The Nightshade Clan?" I repeated, my tone neutral.

Lyrien nodded, its eyes still wary. "Yes, we... we were a small clan, living in the shadows. We kept to ourselves, mostly. But... but something happened, and we had to flee. I've been on my own ever since."

I studied Lyrien's expression, trying to read between the lines. What could have driven the Nightshade Clan to flee, and what was Lyrien running from now? The Stormsurge Clan's rivalry with my own clan was well-known, but I had never heard of any conflicts with the Nightshade Clan. This was getting more interesting by the minute.

I look at lyrien curiosity "what continent is nightshade? Since this is the west continent name Nyxoria!"

Lyrien's eyes seemed to cloud over, and it looked away, its voice barely above a whisper. "Nightshade... was on the continent of Zephyr," it said, its words laced with a hint of sadness.

I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. Zephyr was a continent known for its harsh winds and rugged landscapes.

"Zephyr?" I repeated, my tone thoughtful. "That's a long way from Nyxoria. What brought you to our continent?"

Lyrien's gaze dropped, and it seemed to shrink into itself, as if the memories were painful. "I... I was forced to flee," it said finally. "Zephyr is no longer safe for... for my kind."

I studied Lyrien's expression, trying to understand what could have driven it from its home continent. The distance between Zephyr and Nyxoria was vast, and the journey must have been treacherous. What had Lyrien been running from, and what did it hope to find in Nyxoria?

I question, "What kind of dragon are you? Since I'm a western dragon!"

Lyrien's eyes seemed to gleam with a hint of curiosity, and it regarded me with a thoughtful expression. "I'm a Zephyrian dragon," it said, its voice filled with a subtle pride. "We're a different breed, adapted to the harsh winds and skies of Zephyr."

Lyrien's wings seemed to rustle slightly, as if remembering the winds of its homeland. "We have a more streamlined build, with wings that allow us to ride the wind currents with ease. And our scales... they're a bit different, too."

Lyrien's gaze dropped to its own scales, which seemed to shimmer in the dim light of the cave. "Ours have a more iridescent quality, reflecting the colors of the wind and sky."

I nodded, intrigued by the differences between our breeds. As a western dragon, I was used to the more rugged, rocky landscapes of Nyxoria, and my own scales reflected the earthy tones of my homeland. The Zephyrian dragons, it seemed, were creatures of the wind and sky.

I leaned forward, my curiosity piqued. "I've never seen scales like yours before," I said, my voice filled with genuine interest. "How do they... shimmer like that?"

Lyrien's eyes lit up, and it seemed to relax, enjoying the opportunity to share its unique characteristics. "It's just the way our scales are structured," it explained. "The iridescent quality is due to the way the microscopic layers of our scales reflect the light. It's like the colors of the wind and sky are alive on our bodies."

I nodded, fascinated by the explanation. "That's incredible," I said. "I've never heard of anything like it."

Lyrien smiled, its expression warm. "We're a bit unusual, even among other dragon breeds," it said. "But we've learned to adapt to our environment in unique ways."

As we spoke, I found myself feeling more at ease with Lyrien. Despite our differences, we seemed to be connecting on a deeper level. I realized that I was no longer thinking of Lyrien as just a stranger, but as an individual with its own story and experiences.

"So, what brought you to Nyxoria?" I asked, my curiosity getting the better of me.

Lyrien's expression turned serious, and it hesitated before speaking. "I'm not sure I'm supposed to be here," it said, its voice barely above a whisper. "I'm not sure if I'm welcome."

I raised an eyebrow, intrigued by Lyrien's words. What did it mean? And what was it really doing in Nyxoria?

lyrien question to me, "What clan is this? since I never get to know the name!"

I smiled, happy to share the information with Lyrien. "This is the Nightshade Clan," I said, my voice filled with a sense of pride. "We're a small but fierce clan, living in the mountains and forests of Nyxoria."

Lyrien's eyes widened slightly, and it nodded thoughtfully. "I've heard of the Nightshade Clan," it said. "You're known for your cunning and stealth."

I chuckled, feeling a sense of amusement. "That's true," I said. "We've had to be resourceful and clever to survive in these mountains."

Lyrien's gaze seemed to linger on me, as if studying me more closely. "I think I'm starting to understand why you're so different from the other dragons I've met," it said.

I raised an eyebrow, curious about what Lyrien meant. "Different?" I repeated. "How so?"

Lyrien's expression turned thoughtful. "You seem more... grounded, more connected to the earth," it said. "The other dragons I've met are more focused on their own power and strength, but you... you're different."

I smiled, feeling a sense of pride. "That's because we're a clan that values adaptability and survival," I said. "We've learned to live in harmony with our environment, rather than trying to dominate it."

Lyrien nodded, its eyes shining with understanding. "I think I'm starting to see why you're so successful," it said. "Your approach to life is... refreshing."

As Lyrien spoke, I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. I was proud to be a Nyxians, and I knew that our clan's values and way of life were truly unique and special.

I leaned back against the cave wall, feeling a sense of comfort and relaxation wash over me. The conversation with Lyrien had been enlightening, and I was glad to have had the opportunity to share our clan's values and way of life with them.

"I'm glad you understand our perspective," I said, smiling at Lyrien. "We believe that living in harmony with the environment is key to our survival and success."

Lyrien nodded, its eyes still shining with understanding. "I think I'm starting to see the world in a different way," it said. "I've always been taught to focus on my own power and strength, but your approach seems... more balanced."

I chuckled, feeling a sense of amusement. "We're not opposed to power and strength, but we believe that there's more to life than just dominating others," I said. "We want to live in harmony with the land and its creatures, and to find a sense of balance and peace."

As we spoke, I noticed that the cave was growing darker, the shadows deepening as the sun began to set outside. I stood up, stretching my wings and arching my back.

"I think it's time for me to show you around our clan's territory," I said, smiling at Lyrien. "Would you like to see our home?"

Lyrien's eyes lit up with excitement, and it nodded eagerly. "Yes, I'd love to," it said.

I grinned, feeling a sense of pleasure. "Then let's go," I said, gesturing for Lyrien to follow me.

Together, we set off into the fading light, our scales glistening in the dim illumination of the cave. As we walked, I pointed out various landmarks and features of our territory, explaining the history and significance of each one.

Lyrien listened intently, its eyes shining with curiosity and wonder. I could tell that it was fascinated by our clan's way of life, and I was happy to share our knowledge and traditions with them.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, we reached the edge of a vast, open plain. The stars were beginning to twinkle in the sky above, and the air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers.

"Welcome to the Heart of Nyxoria," I said, spreading my wings and gazing out at the breathtaking view. "This is our clan's sacred place, where we come to connect with the land and our ancestors."

Lyrien's eyes widened in awe, and it gazed out at the plain with a sense of wonder. I could tell that it was deeply moved by the beauty and magic of our clan's territory, and I felt a sense of pride and satisfaction.

"This is incredible," Lyrien breathed, its voice filled with emotion. "I've never seen anything like it."

I smiled, feeling a sense of pleasure. "We're proud of our home," I said. "And we're glad to share it with you."

I smiled. "If you want to join, don't ask me to ask another dragons, bye!" I flew off left lyrien confused.

Lyrien watched in confusion as you flew off, leaving it standing alone in the cave. "Wait, what just happened?" Lyrien thought to itself, trying to process the sudden departure.

You flew swiftly through the mountains, your albino scales glistening in the fading light. You seemed to be in a hurry, and Lyrien was left wondering what had just transpired.

As Lyrien stood there, it couldn't help but feel a sense of curiosity and intrigue. What did you mean by "don't ask me to ask another dragon"? And why had you flown off so suddenly?

Lyrien's confusion slowly gave way to a sense of determination. It decided to follow you, curious about what was going on and what your intentions were.

With a burst of speed, Lyrien took off, flying through the mountains in pursuit of you. The wind rushed past its face, and the stars began to twinkle in the sky above.

As Lyrien flew, it couldn't help but wonder what lay ahead. Would it be able to catch up to you, or would it be left to ponder the mystery of your sudden departure? Only time would tell.

I increased my flying speed to the point that lyrien couldn't catch up to me.

Lyrien flew as fast as it could, but no matter how hard it tried, it couldn't seem to catch up to you. You had increased your speed to the point where you were leaving Lyrien far behind.

As Lyrien flew, the mountains and trees blurred together in a green and brown haze. The wind rushed past its face, whipping its scales back and forth. Despite its best efforts, Lyrien couldn't seem to close the distance between itself and you.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Lyrien was forced to slow down, its wings aching from the exertion. It hovered in mid-air, watching as you disappeared into the distance.

"Wow," Lyrien breathed, its eyes wide with amazement. "You're incredibly fast."

Lyrien couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration for your flying abilities. It had never seen anyone fly so quickly before, and it was impressed by your skill and speed.

As Lyrien caught its breath, it couldn't help but wonder where you had gone. Had you gone to meet with other dragons, or were you off on some solo adventure? Lyrien's curiosity was piqued, and it found itself wanting to know more about your activities.

I smiled to myself as I flew away from Lyrien, feeling a sense of satisfaction at having outrun the other dragon. I had been flying for what felt like hours, and I was starting to feel a sense of freedom and exhilaration.

As I flew, the landscape below me changed from mountains and forests to rolling hills and vast plains. I could see the sun setting in the distance, casting a golden glow over the landscape.

I finally slowed down, my wings aching from the exertion. I hovered in mid-air, looking around to get my bearings. I was in a beautiful valley, surrounded by towering mountains and filled with lush greenery.

I spotted a small lake in the distance, its surface reflecting the golden light of the setting sun. I flew towards it, feeling a sense of peace and tranquility wash over me.

As I landed on the shore of the lake, I felt a sense of relief wash over me. I had outrun Lyrien, and I had found a beautiful place to rest and reflect.

I looked out at the lake, watching as the sun dipped below the horizon. The sky was painted with hues of pink and orange, and the stars were beginning to twinkle in the night sky.

I felt a sense of contentment wash over me, knowing that I had found a place where I could be alone and at peace. I closed my eyes, feeling the gentle breeze rustle my scales and let out a deep sigh.

I thought to myself,'Too bad that I miss Tharros and his siblings tressure hunt'
