Bloodhero was speaking through jaw clenched in anger the entire time. Other Advisers scowled or frowned, too.
"Also, the scouts report that the warrior humans that were previously imprisoned by other humans are now free. It even looks like they are commanding others."
Ambrosia resisted the urge to pull on her hair in a gesture Nectus sometimes did in times of stress.
Instead of cowering in fear, humans united and resisted to the last. Perhaps "diplomacy" was a foolish idea from the start—at least without Nectus here to direct it.
Good thing that the Bee Empire attacked first.
