As soon as Asuriel left her bedroom, Vaerion was on top of her with a sense of unfamiliar urgency. They had no time to talk before he took her to the garage to grab his motorcycle, scooped her onto the vehicle, and hurriedly left the mansion.
He didn't explain to Asuriel where they were going; he only promised to tell her what he found once they arrived.
And, much to her surprise, they headed to the ELH building.
'Why are we here?' she asked him through their link. 'You don't work today, do you?'
'Just come,' Vaerion replied.
After parking the motorcycle in the underground lot, Vaerion led her to the elevator. Asuriel watched as he manipulated his aether to activate the elevator's mechanism – to take them to a secret floor. There was a lot of unnecessary fanfare in how he moved his hands.
"Oh, fancy," she mused, an amused scoff escaping her lips. "You're showing off."
