As if that wasn't shocking enough, the man stood from his seat, gave a slow bow, and then turned to leave. Lilia's eyes remained fixed on him, her curiosity piqued. Suddenly, Zethan's expression darkened slightly at her gaze. He moved his hand gently, holding her chin and turning her face to his side. He spoke quietly.
"Go on,wife. Eat," he said, as he passed the fruit to her.
Now, Lilia was beginning to grow even more curious.
'Who was that man? Did he hear her?'
She was certain that she had only whispered—no, it wasn't even a whisper; she had barely mouthed the words. How had he heard her? Was it possible he was truly the vampire?
She should have reached out and asked Zethan, but then again, she wasn't sure if he would tell her. He had already informed her that vampires will also be attending.
Lilia decided to take the fruit, and that was all she needed to do. She didn't want to overeat, even though Zethan kept placing steak and food on her plate.
