Liam blinked, his brow furrowing in confusion as he tried to make sense of the sudden quest. His mind was hazy, his thoughts sluggish as he struggled to recall the events that had led him to this moment. He remembered using Celestial Ascendance to deal with the commanders, the overwhelming pain and exhaustion that had followed, and then… nothing. He must have passed out, and now he was here, lying on an altar in the old man's chamber, with a quest to kill the very person who had orchestrated the ritual.
Liam grunted, his body aching all over as he slowly pushed himself into a sitting position. His head throbbed like it was about to explode, but he forced himself to focus, his eyes scanning the chamber as he took in his surroundings. The old man was still crawling toward him, his movements slow and desperate, his eyes filled with a mix of malice and determination.
