[Hide!]
[Danger!]
[Enemy approaching]
[Host is not strong enough to defeat opponent]
[Warning!!]
Alfred held his head as he tried to overcome the pain he felt.
"What the hell!"
He stumbled backward and almost fell but was saved by a table that stood innocently in the corner he had stumbled into.
"Shit!! It's not stopping! Make it stop!" He yelled internally but nothing. The pain continued and just when he felt his head would split in two, it stopped. The messages, the ringing, the pain, it all vanished, like it was never there.
[Danger no longer detected]
[Host is safe]
"How the hell am I safe?" He questioned no one in particular. "What just happened. It also happened earlier today in the exact same way"
Looking around the room, he deliberately avoided the dead body he had seen and instead proceeded to look at a different location.
His eyes picked something so he decided to check it out. An odd box that seemed so out of place stood amidst all the other scientifical stuff used for research.
He touched the box and realized that the external was quite smooth despite the rough look. The box looked old, extra old. Like the boxes used during the pirate age for storing treasure except it looked way older.
[The Cosmox box rejects you. It doesnt seem you worthy of its possession]
"What the.."
He touched it again to confirm he wasnt dreaming because how could a box reject you? It was an object, nothing an organism or an entity.
[The Cosmox box rejects you. It doesn't deem you worthy of its possible]
He harrumphed while crossing his arms. "Ita not like I want you either. You're too old for me to want."
He turned away from the box, heading to the entrance so he could continue with his mission, as he called it.
The walk to the office was quiet and slow, surprisingly enough. He was being too cautious of being seen, especially since assassin Shiro knew there was someone on the loose.
Arriving at the office, he brought out a pin he had decided he would use to pick the door but he discovered that he couldnt pick the lock.
It used a passcode and biometrics.
"The freaking door doesnt even have a lock to pick, just when I thought the skill I acquired would finally become useful." He groaned silently, still conscious of the fact that Shiro was on the loose.
Nobody liked it when someone w oi witnesses a job meant to be secret,he of all people understood it. Afterall, he had almost lost his life when he witnessed his father's death.
"An unforgettable and terrifying experience for a nine year old…" he muttered to himself.
"System, help me out?"
[..]
"What the hell? Are you ghosting me? For real? You have me the mission. You have to help me!" He whined but just like earlier it was silent.
"I'd better be going now, of what use it would be to stay here, especially since the system has refused to help me." He added sarcastically.
[Does host wish to cancel optional quest: Break into your professor's office to change your results?]
"Fucking bastard system. Now, you wanna cancel? After raising my hope?"
He kept quiet on making a decision because it was obvious that he couldnt complete the quest and he knew it but he was hoping for something, a miracle maybe?
"Shit! All this planning for nothing." He sighed dejectedly.
"Cancel!"
[Canceling quest in 10 seconds]
[9 seconds]
"The door to his office is always locked, and I'm not ready to start cracking any code, I'll just go through the roof."
"Eh?"
"Geez, calm your balls. I won't get caught. The rat has scurried off, I cant find him or her anywhere."
It was obvious that he was te9only one speaking since it was only his voice that could be heard.
"Did he just call me a rat?"
[6 seconds]
[5 seconds]
"I'll be off now. Yeah, later."
[3 seconds]
[2 seconds]
"Stop! I no longer wish to cancel. I'll follow him and see what he's talking about."
[Quest is no longer cancelled.]
"Well then, off to the roof."
Alfred followed him closely but was careful enough to be quiet. It was clear as day to see that Shiro hadn't been an assassin for too long since he wasnt able to find him and since he couldn't detect someone following him.
Alfred knew this, or rather, he thought that was the case, so he was still careful.
Assassins had the weird habit of killing anyone they considered bothersome and rejecting it later.
Shiro led home outside and began climbingthe roof.

"What do they want, entering our turf and destroying it?" A destro member growled.
"Trouble.." Derolo subconsciously answered.
"Derolo! I see you're quite surprised by my gift."
"Get out!"
The red haired man wearing a sleeveless shirt with tattoos all over his right hand smiled at Derolo, the gold rings in his tooth visible as he smiled.
"Oh, but why? Isnt it just fair if I wreck your place after wrecking my place?"
"What the hell do you mean, Wayne? I hate your guts so much I wouldn't even bother seeing you."
"But not her.." a little girl who looked to be around eleven was pushed outside, her body severely bruised.
"Isnt that..?"
"Who is she?" Derolo questioned.
Wayne raised his brows, obviously surprised by his question.
"How am I to know?" He questioned in response. "She was seen from your gang afterall. A little spy and murderer. Honestly I'm impressed.." he moved closer to the girl, grabbing her neck, he slapped her hard which resulted in her body slamming on the floor due to the impact.
"This little runt here murdered two of the olders. Now, normally I wouldn't bother with it too much but they were prominent people who were good at following orders but this girl right here killed them. The mere fact that they were outed by a scrawny looking thing is annoying and even more so, someone from your gang."
He stepped on her back, causing the little girl to groan in pain. He brought out a .22. and pointed it at the little girl.
"I do not know who she is.."
"Oh really.." Wayne chuckled like a maniac.
"The number one rule in the gang is loyalty, will you really cause the death of a useful member because of your cowardice?"
"I would cause the death of s stranger to prevent a gang war. I'm not willing to entertain that shit."
"Then I shall shoot her right here and right now!" Wayne bellowed, pulling his trigger.
