Emily stared at Amber. She didn't say anything because she knew Amber was beyond pissed.
Emily had just arrived from a lunch date with her boyfriend when she received a scary call from her friend Amber insisting that she come to her house.
Emily didn't want to disappoint her, so she left what she was doing and headed to Amber's house.
Since she got there, Amber had been crying, but right now, she had sobered up and was looking into space.
Emily was scared to say something that might bring back the tears.
She didn't want to say anything until Amber was ready to talk.
"He wants to take custody of Ethan," Amber finally said to Emily.
Emily was so surprised to hear this. "What are you saying?"
"I told him about Ethan, and he wants custody. He wants custody of Ethan. What am I going to do about it?"
"Nicholas was furious on the phone. He was pissed at me, and he won't even listen to me at all," she explained to Emily.
