Again she was left alone by the butler. Standing all by herself in the empty garage of the house, as spacious enough to be an entire hotel's parking lot. Even the array of cars were intriguing, and much bewildering to look at.
Asher could only manage to locate the car she had come with, accompanying that frightening man who had rarely said a word.
Tap. Tap. Tap.
Think of the devil. Asher's expression went a shade gloomy, watching the imposing and scary man who drew near by the second. She mustered enough courage, gripping the long dress she wore.
" Mister, sir. Mr Mason! " Asher nervously broke down. Yet the man kept his pace, walking towards his car.
" Look I'm not Mrs Mason. " She forcefully said, ridding the confusion from her mind. Totally shaking down to her heels, watching the compose striding man.
Tap. Tap. Tap.
The man approached her, his gentle burning gaze on her face. Lifting his hand, he wanted to pull her by the shoulder; as though bringing her to himself. This act petrified Asher even more, sliding away from his hand trajectory and swallowing a lump in her throat.
He gripped the car's handle, without looking at the young woman.
Asher released a breath she didn't know had stuck in her throat, looking at the man who wasn't concerned about her one bit.
" Uh, Mr Mason. " She struggled to say his name correctly, troubled by the situation she found herself.
The halts, bringing his eyes towards her face.
She quickly looked away from his strong and dominant gazes, intimidated by his mere gaze. Asher manages to get herself together, and looks up at him.
" Well. I'm Asher, Asher Reichard. " She said, introducing herself to him with hopes to clear the misunderstanding.
" I'm not your wife-- "
" Asher Reichard. Adopted daughter of the Reichard family, a disgraceful and ungrateful young woman. " The man said coldly, his eyes fixed on the young woman's face without any remorse how she would feel being talked down in such a manner.
The young woman's face lost its glow with her gaping mouth closed. An expression the man read as being spotted out, of her true colors. He pulled the door open, and got into the car.
" Wait! " Asher gripped the door's, anxious over the news she just heard.
Without care the man kick-started the engine of the car, obviously not bothered with this ungrateful woman.
Knock, knock.
Asher tapped the glass of the car with hurried fingers.
" Mr Mason. Mr Mason. Wait! " Asher fidgety words couldn't get to him, gripping the door and trying to get heard by the man. Whilst he stepped on the gas pebbles, accelerating the car and driving off.
She chased after him, running behind the accelerating car. Asher quickly loses her breath, crouching down and gasping for air.
Just about then, the car came to a stop outside the garage. Looking at it, the man seemed to be waiting for her.
Asher got up again, this time she began walking towards the car. When he stepped out, to get the door. Asher became even more confused, was this the same man who left her just a couple of minutes ago.
" Get in! " He commanded, as though done proving his point across to her. Asher felt bitter, looking at the arrogant and very oppressive man. Her shallow breath prevents her from saying any words rather than glaring at the man.
" I said, get in! " He reminds her of his previous command. Holding the door at the front exit of the garage, where an old man watched the scene from his window. The man seemed to anticipate that, getting out of the car and gently treating the young woman with respect.
Right there, Asher wanted to disobey. Become head strong and not listen to him, but right now wasn't the ideal time. Weighing her options, before getting inside the car and he drove out of the compound.
The old man watching this could only smile, from his eyes; they were clearly in love and such an act is quite common for those who recently got married and in the journey of love.
" If only you were here to see this happen! " He said, the smile on his wrinkled face became sour.
Back at the car, the atmosphere around them became unsettling. Asher felt like the was clearly breathing out ice, frost ice strong enough to freeze her inside the car. And afraid of breathing loudly or even looking at him.
Soon the car pulled over, going through a huge gate of a residential villa. A double floor presidential suit with just the right amount of everything. The car remained stationary inside the yard of the villa, no movement of any kind was detected from the dou inside.
Asher released a breath, too scared to say anything. At that moment, the man pulled out a file and threw it at her.
" Sign it. " He demands, stepping out of the car and leaving the woman. Obviously disgusted being close to someone like her, without worry he walked into the villa.
Looking at the papers, it was a marriage contract offered by him. Yet she felt totally at a loss, were all marriage contracts supposed to be like this, weren't there mutual agreements and obligations. Asher quickly rushed after him, getting into the villa as well and confronting him.
" I'm not getting married to you! " She said, the fear in her voice had long been wiped away, standing for her right. Which the man paid no attention to and kept walking, taking the stairs to the second floor.
" You hear me? I'm not signing the contract." Asher barked, not ready to sell herself as a slave to such a cruel man.
" I'm not going to be your wife-- "
" It's not negotiable. " He said coldly, still climbing the stairs without looking back at her.
" You can't force me, against my will. " She said, angry to the point of spitting blood clearly the man did not take her seriously. Her life was like a piece of antique he could acquire, just like that.
The man stopped, causing Asher to fall silent and watch him. Mentally she was scared of this man, and right now that fear and imposing aura around him intensifies.
" I'm, am a human being with right. " Asher said, her weak voice as a wounded puppy.
" It's not a deal. " He said, sealing the thought of her refuting his offer.
