After hours of teleporting over short distances, Beda finally reached the Elves' village. She stretched her hands, running her fingers through her long hair. It had grown considerably since she came to Lost City. Back in the human world, her assassin training required her to keep it short, but here, she could let it grow as long as she pleased.
She was supposed to head straight to Aetherius' palace, but her heart pulled her elsewhere first. It had been over a year since she'd last seen Clyde. She wanted to see him before anyone else.
The morning had arrived, though the sun had yet to fully rise.
As she approached the field, the usual sight greeted her... the children up and roaming about. James and Freddie were there, practising their weapons. Though they no longer had to fight off human raiders in the dungeon, they still trained relentlessly.
It was never wise to let one's skills dull
Beda approached them from behind.
"Hey!" She called.
