"Your order has arrived, Bon appetit"
I stared at the plate of luxury meals arranged infront of me. They smelled funny and made my stomach feel queasy.
"Don't you like it? I tried to find a good restaurant that didn't deal with only seafood" He was clad in a crisp black suit with a white shirt underneath and a black tie. His long legs were crossed elegantly as he studied the menu. His gaze flickering to mine briefly before returning to the food options.The black suit he wore was obviously expensive-perfectly tailored to highlight broad shoulders and long legs. It looked brand spanking new, not a thread out of place. His white dress shirt was crisp, though it was not buttoned all the way- the top two buttons had been left undone, revealing just enough of a hint of broad, muscular chest. Overall he made me feel thoroughly underdressed.
Well underdressed really isn't the word I guess. I wore a large cream knitted sweater and black suit pants. My flopper themed tote bag hung on the chair behind me. I had tied my hair down in two low pigtails. I looked like a child.
"Elora?"
I snapped out of my train of thoughts, he was looking at me. It was the first time I took notice of his eyes, they were just like Dream's but grey.
"Yeah?"
"We can always leave if you feel uncomfortable?"
I looked at the dish infront of me and then back at him,
"I'm going to go use the bathroom, please give me a minute"
He nodded, I saw him pull of his mask, steam escaping from the mask. Revealing his thin yet plump lips, I quickly stood up and walked over to a waiter and asked for directions.
So how did we end up here?
"What's it going to be, Elora?"
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"What do you mean what do I mean?"
I frowned at his cheeky comeback
"..."
"You're no fun, I don't want anything much. Just have dinner with me"
"That's it?"
"That's it, no funny business"
I clutched the phone, one dinner wouldn't hurt right?
"Fine"
"Splendid, may I have your address. I'll send a chaffuer to come pick you up"
I didn't want no stranger knowing my home address!
"No, I'll come to you myself"
There was a long pause before I heard him chuckle, the low rumbling like sound sent chills down my spine
"I can't allow that, what would the world say if they found out a gentleman like me made a pretty elf stress herself because of me?"
My eye twitched at his tone
"Fine then come pick me up at the whale station"
"You're quite stubborn"
"My way or no way"
He laughed and hummed in response
"Your way"
Yeah.
I want to go home.
Aunt Dara agreed to spend the night with Dream so I didn't worry much. All of these is to punish whoever did this to him. Nothing more, nothing less.
I washed my hands in the sink before mentally preparing myself and heading back out.
He was typing furiously on his phone, his perfectly shaped eyebrows furrowing and easing
"Ahem"
I sat down, glancing at him. He smiled and dropped his phone
"Let's get out of here"
Ugh! Finally!
He stood up with his hand outstretched
"What?"
"Your bag"
"Huh?"
"Give me your bag"
"Why?"
"You ask so many questions"
He had a mischievous smile plastered on his face making me wary. I handed it to him. Iun slung the bag over his shoulder and gestured me to follow him. My face flushed with embarrassment. He looked like a dad trying to be cool and I looked like his daughter who wanted to be anywhere but here.
"Hey, that reminds me, how old are you?"
We had gotten to the parking lot, he beeped his car before turning to face me
"Twenty nine(29), will be thirty(30) next year"
He's just twenty nine?!
"Why do you ask?"
"N-nothing"
"Hmm"
He walked over to the passenger side and pulled the door open. I muttered a 'thank you' and got in.
"So where are we going?"
I asked as he entered
"I heard you younglings like arcades and stuff"
"I'm not a 'youngling' "
"Hm, enlighten me"
I rolled my eyes and looked away but cold fingers grasped my chin and turned my face back to his, his grip was so light I barely felt it.
"I said enlighten me Elora"
I just want to go back home!
