"If you want to keep waiting, it's up to you," Grace said with an impassive expression. "But out of courtesy, I may tell you that the CEO is stuck somewhere important and couldn't make time today. If you want to see her in the office, kindly take an appointment."
She lied effortlessly, making an excuse for her boss, even though she was well aware that the woman in question was currently enjoying her lunch in her office.
It was her job, after all. If her boss declared that the city would drown in sugar syrup tomorrow, it was her duty to swear it was indeed happening.
Besides, at this moment, Grace wasn't too fond of CEO Philip either. Although it still seemed like Dove was in the wrong for whatever abrupt decision she had made, Grace, for reasons she couldn't quite explain, didn't like the Davis family either. She felt no remorse.
