After the recommended edible fish, there are others. The first one is LOBSTER, which is, of course, lobster.
There were once many lobsters in the Caribbean Sea, and even now, there are still quite a few.
However, after so many years of eating them, they are now scarce near the coast. If you want to catch lobsters, you have to go farther out to sea.
The second edible fish is CONCH, also known as conch. Below the conch is BARRACUDA, a fish that Jiang Hai is familiar with. It swims very fast and is often called the "sea wolf." It tastes great, but there aren't many in his fishing grounds.
Next is DOGSNAPPER, a type of snapper, similar to the yellow snapper mentioned earlier.
Further down is MUTTONSNAPPER, another kind of snapper, but with two colors. This one is even rarer.
There are three other edible fish: DEPPSNAPPER, REDHINDGROUPER, and ROCKHINDGROUPER. These are all edible, but it's best to avoid eating other types of groupers and a type of snapper called coral, except for the two types of groupers mentioned above. Jiang Hai has never seen these types of fish.
Also, there's the PARROTFISH, or rippled lip fish. Not many people may know this name, but those who have read fishery novels would recognize the name "Humphead Wrasse," which is the official name of the parrotfish. Additionally, Triggerfish and parrotfish are protected species here.
These four types of fish are best not to eat, and the things that should absolutely not be eaten are sharks and turtles. In the Caribbean region, every store has signs warning about this. Of course, if you catch these fish in the open sea, no one will care if you eat them yourself. But if you bring them to a restaurant for cooking, they might call the police.
Speaking of these fish, Jiang Hai has seen some, and others he hasn't. But he has some knowledge of most of them. However, what exactly is this MAHIMAHI? He really wants to try it.
"Give me one of these to try," Jiang Hai said, pointing to the fish.
"Hmm? Are you sure?" The waiter looked at Jiang Hai in surprise.
"Sure!" Jiang Hai nodded, sensing that the waiter was concerned about whether he could pay.
"If I were you, I wouldn't order something so extravagant," said a female voice from the table next to them. Jiang Hai and Bell-Lester turned to look, and Bell's eyes lit up.
The table had four people, all girls who didn't look very old. They wore cool but modest clothes, with bronze skin, large eyes, slender figures, and well-formed figures—cough, and big eyes, exquisite facial features. Though they had slight differences, their Latin style was unmistakable.
The girl who spoke was the most beautiful of the group in Jiang Hai's and his friends' eyes.
"Hey, beauty, why?" Bell-Lester asked with a smile, his gaze lingering.
"No reason. The fish you ordered is called dolphin. As far as I know, they only have three of them in the store. Each one is an adult, over a meter long and weighing thirty kilograms. Are you sure you can eat that much?" The girl replied playfully.
Upon hearing this, Jiang Hai and Bell felt a little embarrassed. They hadn't considered the size of the fish.
"Then we'll have half a fish," Jiang Hai said after thinking for a moment, addressing the waiter who was still standing by.
Half a fish weighs around 15 kilograms. Though only Jiang Hai and Bell came to eat, there were four people on the boat, and they needed to pack some back for the others. They wouldn't be able to finish it all themselves.
Once Jiang Hai and the others confirmed the size of the fish and requested half of one, the waiter immediately took their order and left. He returned later with two cups of teaspoon juice. The selection here was quite impressive.
"Hi, beauties, hello. My name is Belle-Lester. May I introduce myself?" While waiting for the food, Jiang Hai checked his phone for news about the dolphin, while Bell had already turned his attention to the girls.
"I know you. You're American, from the big ship in the port. I've always heard that Americans are very indulgent in their private lives, and now I see it's true." The girl who had spoken earlier glanced at him, then picked up a piece of fish with her fork and continued speaking.
"Hi, that's your misunderstanding of us. In fact, we're very loyal," Belle said, pretending to be hurt by her comment.
Jiang Hai raised his eyebrows. How could he say that? In Jiang Hai's opinion, the most loyal person in the entire manor was Philemon. None of the other men, including Tommy Char, Enol Cece, and Andrew Christian, could be considered particularly loyal. These guys went out to have fun in groups whenever their wives were at work in the town.
Jiang Hai didn't join them because he found the fast food they sought beneath him. Among the group, Belle was definitely the most aggressive. Robbins Garcia had mentioned that Belle was quite popular in bars, nightclubs, and other entertainment venues. As soon as he mentioned he was a special forces soldier from Delta State who had fought terrorists, and showed off his muscles, the young doctors and nurses would look at him differently. Some even went out with him, and after the fun, the women didn't even ask for money, which made Robbins and the others envious.
Although Belle wasn't looking to pick up any women on the boat, once they reached the shore, he had gone out a few times.
"Hey, I've already introduced myself. I can't keep calling you Beauty No. 1, Beauty No. 2, Beauty No. 3, and Beauty No. 4. Out of courtesy, you should introduce yourselves," Belle said with a cheeky smile, raising his eyebrows.
I have to admit, Belle was quite good at picking up girls. As soon as he said this, the four girls opposite him laughed.
"Hey, don't you take care of your little brother?" The girl who had spoken earlier tapped the table, addressing Jiang Hai, who was busy with his phone. Hearing her words, Jiang Hai was a bit surprised, as he seemed more like Belle's follower.
"How do you know he's my little brother?" Jiang Hai asked, glancing at the clothing both he and Belle were wearing. In fact, their clothes were quite similar. None of the workers at Jiang Hai's manor were short of money. Jiang Hai paid more and gave out more bonuses, so they all wore good clothes. Since they worked at the manor, they had to wear outdoor clothes, so there wasn't much difference between his and Belle's outfits. Jiang Hai wasn't wearing his flashy gold watch either.
How did she know that he and Belle had a superior-subordinate relationship?
"It mainly depends on the temperament," the girl said with a smile. Belle shrugged helplessly.
"Thank you," Jiang Hai said with a laugh. This was an interesting observation.
"You're welcome, sir. Hello, my name is Kevin Carter. This is my English name, though in Spanish, I guess you wouldn't be interested. I heard you're here to fish for tuna. I think you might need a guide. What do you think of me?" The girl stood up and walked to the table where Jiang Hai and Bell were sitting. She then sat next to Jiang Hai and spoke.
"You?" To be honest, if this girl had come over and said, "I heard you're in need of a sex partner. What do you think of me?" Jiang Hai might have said, "It's really good—bronze skin, a fit body, a good-looking face..." But the issue was that she was talking about being a guide. A guide? And most importantly, her name—Kevin Carter? Isn't that a boy's name?
"I've lived here for eighteen years. I started working on the sea when I was thirteen with my father. I know this place and its fish like the back of my hand. Our school is on vacation now, so I need to make some money," the girl said confidently.
"Okay, let me ask you this first. Are you a man or a woman?" Jiang Hai asked after a brief hesitation.
"Of course I'm a woman. You can't be... I'm just a guide, okay?" The girl looked at Jiang Hai warily, thinking he might have some bad intentions.
"Well, I'm not interested in you, but the name Kevin Carter... seems to be a boy's name," Jiang Hai replied, smiling.
"What? It's a boy's name? Oh my God! Pasruvi, you bastard!" The girl was stunned at first, then turned to yell at the girl sitting next to her. It seemed she had come up with the name.
