"We need to talk about Bella," she said softly. Her voice cutting through the tension. Neither of them responded immediately. Instead, they looked at each other, exchanging a long, thoughtful glance.

Jessica continued, her voice calm now but still laced with worry. "How do we handle this? How do we tell her the truth without breaking her? She is fragile and may not take too much shock."
Davis looked down at his hands, his brows furrowed in pain and thought. He didn't have an answer. And even if he did, he wasn't sure it would be the right one.
