Chapter 55 - Vengeance Part 2

Inside the castle, there is complete chaos, as it has been reported that Cordayl is wreaking havoc throughout the kingdom. The military has already been deployed, but they have been futile in their attempts to stop this monster.

"Tell the military to retreat. I need no more men thrown into the fire. Instead, have the strongest of the ranks gather outside the castle doors. We know where he is heading. I will be there shortly." King Juulian gives the order.

Taking a sip of his drink, King Juulian walks into his closet and starts to don his armor.

As he is doing so, his wife walks into the doorway of the giant closet. "What's wrong, my love?"

"The sins of my past have come to collect their dues." King Juulian says, continuing to dress.

"I don't understand. You have been a good king to your country. What sins have you committed?" Confusion evident on her face.

Putting on his breastplate, he tells her to retrieve his weapon. She runs out, upset at him for ignoring her question. Taking a deep breath, the king finishes his glass and exits the closet.

His wife is there holding his weapon with her eyes locked on the ground. Walking up to her, he picks her chin up so their eyes can meet. Then he kisses her one last time, long and passionately, before pulling away.

Grabbing his sword from her hands, he tells her, "I wished I would have met you when I was young and stupid. Then maybe all of this would have been avoided."

He turns to leave the room, but she grabs and kisses him again.

When it ends, he gently puts her back on the ground. "Our son is away now in the Michelle territory. Go to him now, and do not look back." He says, grabbing the door handle and exiting the room.

As the kingdom's strongest and bravest soldiers gather outside the castle's gate, they brace themselves for what comes next. At least a hundred soldiers are outside the castle, ready to fight to the death to protect their king.

Suddenly, a massive shake is felt throughout the kingdom. The soldiers all stand there in anticipation for Cordayl when something huge blocks the sun.

One of the soldiers looks up, and his heart drops. More soldiers start to look up, and they are all stuck in shock as they see their town clock descending upon them.

The veteran soldiers shake out of their stupor quickly and jump up to destroy the building before it can crush them all.

The destroyed building hits the ground, producing a massive dust cloud. The soldiers get back on their feet and prepare for whatever comes next.

Through the dust clouds, a figure slowly walks toward the unit.

The soldiers know it is Cordayl, and they clinch their weapons, preparing to fight.

But as they brace to engage this monster, they start to notice, one by one, more and more shadows walking beside him.

"Impossible!" they think. There is no way that a whole army has infiltrated the kingdom.

The soldiers are rethinking the circumstances now, as it seems this fight will be more evenly matched than they thought.

But out of the shadows, only Cordayl emerges.

Walking away from the dust and standing in front of every soldier assembled in front of the castle gates, Cordayl gives them a look that spells catastrophe.

The soldiers are frozen in fear, unsure if what they just saw was real, but they don't move. They just stare at this angry teenage boy.

Cordayl notices the stalemate and decides to start things off. He releases a battle cry that roars through the kingdom and races in to fight the army.

The army screams as well, refusing to give in to their fear, and the battle commences.

As King Juulian walks out of his bedroom and down the long hallways of his castle, he finally arrives at the area where his throne is located.

Sitting on his throne is none other than Cordayl.

King Juulian acts as if he doesn't see him, but he is fully aware of the boy sitting in his seat. Pouring himself a glass, King Juulian finishes the drink, "You have some nerve sitting on my throne, boy."

"My bad. I beat all of those guys outside, and after wandering around this place, I decided to take a break. Here, you can have it back," Cordayl says, standing up and walking away from the throne.

To his surprise, King Juulian actually takes the seat of the throne. With his drink still in his hand, he looks at Cordayl and notices how much he has grown since the first time he saw him.

"So you're here for revenge?" King Juulian asks, staring at Cordayl, whose eyes are directly on him.

"Basically." Cordayl answers.

"Understandable. But does your quarrel with me reason you to lay waste to my people and home?" King Juulian asks, swirling the liquid in his glass around.

The gravity intensifies before Cordayl answers the question. "You took everyone I loved away from me. Orphaned me, then mocked me by celebrating me as a survivor. Today is a result of your actions!" Cordayl says as the room starts to shake with the pressure.

"Now you must reap what you sow, the manifestation of your karma. But don't sit in your chair and look down on me as if I were some child throwing a tantrum. I am merely here so that all of those who died for me can finally receive their peace. " Cordayl says, walking up to King Juulian.

King Juulian can't even move as the pressure on him immobilizes all of his movement.

Face-to-face with King Juulian, Cordayl continues his rant. "Because of you, fathers were murdered. Sons were killed. Brothers were lost. Husbands, uncles, and leaders are gone. In the most cowardice and disgraceful of tactics, you took all of their lives away." The glass in King Juulian's hand shatters, slicing through his palm.

"I am merely here so that they can get the anger they still feel off of their souls. So they may finally rest." Cordayl says, eye to eye with the King, who can't even open his mouth.

Cordayl erases the pressure and stares down at the king, who is breathing hard. Still fighting to calm his breathing, King Juulian scoffs, "My, how you've grown. Your father's gravity wasn't even that intense." he taunts Cordayl.

A look of hatred darkens Cordayl's eyes. Then Cordayl rocks the King with a single punch to the face. The impact of the hit sends the golden throne, still seating King Juulian, flying through the room and smashing into a wall.

King Juulian erupts from the debris, sword out, going on the offensive against Cordayl. Cordayl, as effortlessly as he is dodging the attacks, is countering every attack, leaving dents in the King's armor with each hit he delivers.

As ferocious as the king is fighting, he is no match for Cordayl. His kingdom has known nothing but peace since his actions against the Melatonin and Hardoy tribes.

He has since fallen in love, created a family, and focused on his kingdom's growth. Fighting was but an exercise for him, it was never necessary. Fighting Cordayl, King Juulian realized the different level this boy was on.

Having to fight all his life, Cordayl had fought and overcame foes and enemies at the peak of their might. He had defeated killers and warriors whose skill levels would have gotten them through gladiator arenas. All had lost to Cordayl, who, at 18, was still growing stronger.

It felt like he was growing stronger as they fought right then and there. Each hit the king received from Cordayl left more damage than the last. Each hit had whatever body part that took the impact, in fear of another strike.

King Juulian roars, swinging his blade with enough force to slice apart the beams yards behind Cordayl.

Cordayl, ducking the attack, punches the king right in the stomach, doubling him over in pain. King Juulian spits on the floor as the hit leaves him bent over and breathless.

Cordayl isn't finished though as he kicks King Juulian straight into the ceiling. Hitting the roof, King Juulian nearly blacks out as the back of his armor shatters into his flesh.

He peels out of the crater his body has created, and as he descends, before he can hit the ground, Cordayl hits him again, sending his body back into the same exact spot the king had just fallen out of.

King Juulian knows he is defeated. But he knows his death will come no time soon. This is a moment this boy has dreamed of for years.

A moment Juulian had been anticipating for years. And yet he prepared for it so poorly.

Feeling his body start to fall from the ceiling once more, King Juulian decides it is time for his ace in the hole.

Quickly maneuvering his tongue around, he knocks a fake tooth from its place and chews it quickly. This ass-whooping has left his body unresponsive, but if he can survive the next 30 seconds, the medicine will kick in, giving him another chance.

Cordayl lets King Juulian hit the ground. Standing over him, Cordayl notices the cracked and broken armor that is stabbing the king in the back. Gently kicking him over, Cordayl puts his foot on the king's chest and pushes down hard.

King Juulian grunts at the pressure just this boy's foot brings down on him. Cordayl isn't letting up, though. He raises his foot and stomps again, cracking the ground beneath them.

"20 more seconds." King Juulian thinks to himself, coughing up blood. King Juulian is forced to watch as Cordayl raises his foot again to stomp the king into the floor beneath.

Then, a shield soars towards the head of Cordayl. Cordayl catches the shield and crumbles the piece that is in his hands. Cordayl could sense it was coming and knew that the shield posed no danger to him at all, but it definitely just pissed him off.

Looking in the direction the shield was thrown, Cordayl sees a woman standing in the area with a look of anger in her eyes. Well, anger at first. When Cordayl turns his attention towards her, walking directly at her, fear invades her body and refuses to let her run.

King Juulian strains to move even an inch as he begs his body to get up and stop this boy from hurting his wife. But his body won't cooperate. "10 more seconds..10 more seconds!" King Juulian shouts in his head, knowing this will be the longest 10 seconds of his life.

Cordayl walks up to the woman and stares at her, forcing her to look him in the eyes. Her eyes drop, and he finds his answer.

"I don't blame you for protecting your husband. Next time, though, throw a knife," Cordayl comments before being struck so hard that he is sent flying through multiple walls and outside the castle.

King Juulian is standing before his wife in the same spot Cordayl was previously in. But he seems almost two times bigger all of a sudden.

The aura he is giving off, the queen feels the same fear she felt standing in front of that boy a few seconds prior.

"I told you to leave. You know I do not like repeating myself." King Juulian tells her, walking away to finish his fight with Cordayl.
