A man could be seen watching a Manor a small distance away from an nearly empty apartment as there was only a couch and four chairs behind him and a trash can that was nearly full from the food he ate.
He had been surveiling the manor for a week and hadn't noticed any changes since the random blood trail two nights ago and had informed it to Sir Cain but since then no real changes.
The man had black hair that was slicked back and wore a black cloak with black gloves as his dark brown eyes had bags that were nearly starting to show under his eyes 'I hope this assignment is coming to an end soon.' He thought inwardly while sitting in one of the chairs.
The sound of the door knob turning grabbed his attention as he quickly turned around and grabbed his dagger that was sheathed on his right hip "Glad to see you're still on your toes!" A voice said as he saw his companions walk in followed by Mathew as he walked up to him.
"I wasn't expecting you guys today, what's the change?" He asked as everyone walked past him and sat down on the couch while Mathew sighed "So there's been a development…" Mathew said while walking towards one of the chairs while the man sat back in his chair next to the window.
"Sir Cain is gonna mobilize a child with us tonight, the child will be placed under your supervision while we invade the manor." Mathew said as the man's face scrunched up in confusion "What the hell Matt!? Do you not understand how dangerous this assignment is? What business does a child have with us?"
"Maybe if Jackie didn't throw your ass under the bus you wouldn't have to be the babysitter." Vince said while puffing on his cigar as Jackie smacked him on the shoulder which in turn grabbed his attention as he looked at her for a answer "I'm sorry David, it just really seemed like Sir Cain wanted to bring the child so I used you as the solution." She said while looking away from him in slight awkwardness and shame as he sighed while facepalming.
"This assignment is no place for a child, I look forward to see how you plan on compensating me since you volunteered me Jackie." He said as she looked shocked as the door opened itself again as in came Cain and behind him what looked to be a teenage boy with blonde and peach hair and nearly tanned skin as his amber eyes scanned the room 'Just by looking I can tell...he's been through a lot.' David thought inwardly as he was the first to approach them.
"Good evening Sir Cain!" He said while taking a slight bow as he glanced at the child again as they locked eyes with each other "The assignment will be coming to an end tonight, can I count on you to look after this boy and look for survivors?" Cain asked as David gave him a firm nod "I can get it done sir, you can count on me!" David said as Cain walked past him and toward the rest of the team.
"Is everyone ready? We're about to move in on the manor." Cain asked as everyone nodded in agreement "Alright, let's move out!" He said as everyone followed him out the door and down the stairwell, once the was outside Indra began walking next to David as he led him towards a certain part of the wall and pulled up a patch of grass that was made into a makeshift door 'There was something like this in front of the manor the whole time?' David thought inwardly as he followed Indra down the hole.
Once they reached the ground it was a cement brick floor as their surroundings looked more like a tunnel as he began pulling out a flash light and before he could turn it on Indra immediately snatched it from him "You're gonna get us killed with this, just follow behind me I can see." Indra said as David followed behind him up the hall.
They soon reached the end and was met with a four-way intersection, to their left and right were dead ends but had at least five cells on each side as David ran over to check the left side and went by each one as he didn't like what he saw, in each cell was blood stains on the walls and floors as bodies were laid out across the ground "He recently began killing everyone that came into his possession, he tested and experimented on everyone and made me fight them...I was the last to be killed." Indra said as David shook his head slowly.
"Let's keep moving, there's surely to be someone still alive down here." He said while moving over to the right side and went cell to cell up until the last one as there was a group of people inside as David was shocked and immediately began picking the lock, once he got through there was only one person hanging on to consciousness as he noticed David but one look at Indra a thought immediately came to mind.
The man wore torn baggy brown pants but no shirt or anything on his feet as he watched David quickly approach him as his silver hair had dirt and blood in it "Sir! Sir are you okay!?" David asked as the man nodded slowly "Yes, but sadly...you're too late." He said while looking over to the other people in the cell with him who was laid up against the wall and on the ground as they barely had any movement.
"We can get you out of here, I have a healer with me-" The sound of an explosion above them cut him off as there was small bits rubble falling on top of them "Seems like your healer is busy in battle right now." He said while chuckling before coughing up blood "Setting us free doesn't do you any good, if he sees us he will activate the curse he put on us which will then make us your enemies- killing us is the only logical thing to do here." He said as another explosion let off above them making more rubble fall on top of them and shaking the floor slightly.
"Before doing so, I would like to speak to the boy that's with you and live out my last moments." He said as David looked at them confusingly before hearing another rumble above them "Make it quick kid!" He said while running out the cell and leaving Indra behind "I thought I'd never see you again, I was happy when I heard you escaped from here." He said as Indra looked away as sadness was clear on his face.
"I never wanted to come back here again, especially if it meant seeing all of you like this." Indra said as the man began coughing up more blood and spit what he could out "I know you were told that you didn't inherit any abilities as a Dragon, I didn't wanna say anything because at the time we were all still captives but now that you're free I-" He said as he was interrupted by himself coughing up more as Indra went up to him and wiped his face with his cloak as he began to lock eyes with Indra.
"Now that you're free I wanna tell you that when we first fought I could sense something abnormal deep within you and after being around you even now I know what it is and if I'm right about this there's something you must do." He said as Indra looked confused as there was a loud explosion again above their heads as it began cracking the ceiling above them as it woken up the others even though they look to be on death's door as the man grabbed on to Indra's cloak.
"Do you want to become stronger!? Answer the question quickly!" He said as Indra didn't understand what was going on "O-Of course I do!" Indra said as the man gave a small smile "The strength you seek you can have if you kill us right now and set us free from our cursed bonds." He said as Indra watched him pull a small blade from underneath him "You are special- your kind may not have wanted you but I am glad that I have gotten the chance meet you...with our deaths even the deaths of other people you can become stronger- maybe even the strongest person this world has ever seen." He said while placing the blade in Indra's hand.
"Imagine that power deep inside of you rising and covering you and your weapon and the rest should work itself out." He said as a purple and dark green hue surrounded Indra and the blade "How do you know this'll even work!? Who's to say my power even works this way!" Indra said as tears fell slowly from his eyes as the man reached up and touched foreheads with him "Trust in me the same way we all trust in you, right our wrongs and by some miracle you'll be able to right the wrong done to you by being in this place." He said as he pulled Indra closer as the sound of something squelching could be heard as Indra gasped in shock.
He could feel something coursing through him- something new as it was rushing into him all at once as it took his breath away 'This mana! It's so heavy!' Indra thought inwardly as he was out of breath and in pain as he soon dropped to his knees "He told us that you would more than likely be in pain if he was correct about what he thought you were..." A deep male voice said as Indra lazily looked over at him as he could barely catch his breath and saw someone else familiar as it was a huge white tiger with piercing blue eyes "Leave the rest to us, we know this is a heavy burden." He said as he could see everyone crawling and moving over towards him as the rumbling was getting louder and louder.
