Aurelia abruptly sat up in her sleep, eyes flying open as her heart pounded hard against her rib cage.
Exhaling deeply, she face-palmed herself, running her fingers through her hair as she recalled the dream.
It was the same dream she'd been having for the past four years.
The same one where she was hauled off a cliff by some people despite pleading for another chance.
What she did to warrant such a cruel death? She had no idea.
No matter what phrasing she used when pleading, the outcome was always the same.
At this point, she didn't know if it was an actual memory she was missing or a representation of what would happen to her if she continued living recklessly as a rogue.
Swallowing, she lowered her gaze to the duvet, too preoccupied by the strange dream to notice it was different from hers.
Calming herself, she turned to the side and stretched her leg to climb out of bed.
