The Jiraiya in the original series likely never found the true balance point in Sage Mode, which made his activation speed unusually slow and caused the toad-like transformations in his body. It also placed an enormous strain on him physically.
Now, Jiraiya understood why the original version of himself couldn't achieve a perfect Sage Mode. His body simply couldn't withstand the burden of achieving the true balance point.

After finding the balance point, he could now easily absorb natural energy and merge it with his chakra, converting it into Sage Chakra.

In just one second, he entered Sage Mode again.
"As I thought, finding the true balance point allows me to activate Sage Mode instantly," Jiraiya said, nodding in satisfaction as he deactivated it once more.
"Fukasaku-sama, does this mean I've succeeded?" Jiraiya turned to Fukasaku for confirmation.
"Without a doubt!" Fukasaku was utterly stunned by Jiraiya's ability to enter Sage Mode in mere seconds.
"That's incredible. Now, please teach me some Sage Techniques," Jiraiya said to the two elder toads.
Having mastered the use of Sage Chakra, Jiraiya was now qualified to learn Sage Techniques.
In fact, many standard ninjutsu could be powered by Sage Chakra, naturally transforming them into Sage Techniques. However, such techniques weren't considered true Sage Techniques—they were more like enhanced ninjutsu.
True Sage Techniques required a mastery of Sage Chakra to unleash their full potential.
"Of course," Fukasaku said with a nod, summoning two scrolls and handing them to Jiraiya.
The scrolls contained two immensely powerful Sage Techniques.
The first was an S-rank Fire Release Sage Technique, Bath of Boiling Oil. This was a compound jutsu that required the combined efforts of Fukasaku, Shima, and Jiraiya to perform.
This Fire Release jutsu could be considered the pinnacle of fire techniques. Once activated, the flames reached temperatures comparable to the surface of the sun, capable of incinerating everything in their path.
However, mastering such a technique was no easy feat, given its reliance on perfect synchronization between the three users. Jiraiya would have to frequently return to Mount Myoboku for training.
The second Sage Technique, detailed in the other scroll, was Hair Needle Senbon. It boasted unparalleled speed and range, making it nearly impossible to dodge. In the original series, this was one of Jiraiya's fastest and widest-reaching offensive techniques.
"Let's not waste any time, Fukasaku-sama, Shima-sama —let's begin training for Bath of Boiling Oil right away," Jiraiya said eagerly after reading the instructions.
Once he mastered this Sage Technique, he would possess a weapon powerful enough to take down Kage-level opponents.
The flames from Sage Art: Bath of Boiling Oil were so searingly hot that even the strongest Kage-level shinobi would be reduced to ashes, unable to resist in such extreme temperatures.
The jutsu required Jiraiya to provide oil, Fukasaku to contribute fire, and Shima to supply wind. Together, the three forces combined to form an immensely powerful Fire Release.
After signing a summoning contract with Fukasaku and Shima, Jiraiya began training with them to synchronize their efforts.

It had been over a month since they began training for Bath of Boiling Oil, yet they still hadn't successfully executed the technique.
Jiraiya now realized that mastering this jutsu was even harder than learning Sage Mode. The synchronization required to merge the three energies was so precise that even the slightest error caused the technique to fail.
