Chapter 18 - Chapter-17 Beneath the Dust, Secrets Stir

Below, there was a dust cloud, wood fragments and debris lay scattered around. Specters and Exodites all began to circle the area, their faces a mix of curiosity and fear, they were all attracted by the sound.

In the midst of it all, David wolves subroutines scrambled to there feets, panic in theirs eyes. The Exodites around peered through the dust, trying to catch a glimpse of the source of the destruction.

A groan escaped Aiden's lips as he rolled off David's body. He gasped for air, blinking rapidly. His eyes met Elvis's, cold and unrelenting gaze, before he looked down to David, who was pinned beneath the broken debris, groaning in pain.

Aiden's breath caught in his throat.

"Huh."

Before he could react, Elvis moved with an explosive speed that caught Aiden off guard, grabbing his head and pinning him to the ground. He struggled to push himself up from, Elvis body weight, but his strength wasn't enough.

"Ahh." Aiden screamed. 'Damn it… Specter Wolves are really stronger than Exodites. Even after my transformation, I still can't match their raw power.'

His thoughts raced. What must an Exodite truly do to match the strength of a Specter, especially when I've heard there are so many types in the Phantom Dimension?

He wondered if there was any way to grow stronger if it was even possible. 'But what if that strength is too slow? Will I always be beaten to the punch?'

Everyone knows that Specter Wolves were known to have strength far beyond most Exodites and Normal Specters.

Besides the way Exodites get stronger, Specters are at a faster rate by doing just a normal life but also based kf there species.

Elvis slammed Aiden's head into the ground, the force rattling his skull. "You dare attack our Alpha!" he growled.

Suddenly a deafening roar reverberated through the air, sending a shockwave that scattered the dust and debris. Aiden strained to look up, only to find David glaring at him, his red eyes burning with intensity.

"Father?!"

At that time Master Callin also arrived down. where he saw his father and Elvis holding Aiden down, his concern evident. "Are you okay?" he asked David.

David slowly exhale, brushing dust off his clothes. "Tie him up... and carry him back home."

"Yes, Lord." Elvis responded. With the help of other subordinates, he swiftly bound Aiden, he tried to break free but struggled.

Despite his efforts, he couldn't, and Aiden's strength weakened.

Master Callin approached Lord's David side, his voice lowering. "Father, you should know, that this one is said to be friends with the Pale Requiem."

Aiden shivered, his eyes darted around. 'Me being friend with the Pale Requiem. How did you come to that conclusion?' He thought. Unless someone's been spreading rumors.

Nearby, a Exodite whispered. "The Pale Requiem? If he's really with them, this just got dangerous."

"Good." David answered indifferent.

With that, David, Master Callin, and Elvis began the march home, carrying Aiden. The crowd that had gathered parted going back to there own problems, some questioning what had just occurred.

The Exodites, reluctant to challenge David's authority outright, remained passive, knowing better than to openly defy him. After all, they all saw Aiden struck first.

In fact for the very reason Aiden became way more useful than just being tortured.

During they walk, there was one figure who didn't move away like the others. Despite David's presence being unnerving…suffocating even.

Elvis noticed the oddity, suspicion rising within him, but before he could react, the figure moved. In a flash, their body dissolved into mist, blocking his line of sight. The mist was chilling, and as it enveloped him.

He even couldn't move.

"What's with all this mist?" one of the subordinate's muttered.

All the mist slowly dissipate, and Elvis had a growing unease as he felt his shoulder was lighter than before. He glanced up… to see that Aiden was gone, his gaze snapped around to his subordinates, who were in full panic mode.

"Where did he go?!"

Elvis's eyes darted around, scanning the crowd. His heart sank when he saw the figure again, moving swiftly through the crowd. Aiden was slung over their shoulder.

"Idiot! After them!"

David's roar echoed through the streets, sending a tremor through the minds the Specter Wolves. They immediately took off in pursuit, but the mysterious figure was already too far ahead, weaving through the crowd with the grace of a shadow.

Who is this person? Why are they saving me They better hurry up…they're catching up to us.

Elvis was included in the pursit, but as they leapt across rooftops, the sounds of their chase began to fade. The distance between them and the figure grew further each passing second.

Finally, one of the subordinates landed on a rooftop and glanced around. "Their scents are gone!"

Elvis's fist clenched in anger. He had been with David for years ever since he had saved his life and had never failed him. This failure stung making him angry. His mind raced he came to remember Callin. The only one who could move like that is... the Pale Requiem.

Meanwhile, the mysterious figure had reached an abandoned storehouse, its wooden groaning from each step. The figure dropped Aiden onto the ground, stepping into the dark shadows of the storehouse.

Far away, in a dimly lit room thick of tension, flickering candlelight cast long shadows against it's cracked stone walls.

A chill ran through the air, thick with the scent of damp earth and stale dust. Riven's boots echoed softly against the cold floor as he continued to pace.

On the opposite side of the room, Mira sat cross-legged, her eyes, however, betrayed her calm demeanor. The faint glow of the candle illuminated her features, casting a soft light over her furrowed brow.

Riven's voice broke the silence. "I can't believe this... never thought I'd end up here, kidnapped and stuck in this same position as grace." He kicked a loose stone across the floor. "I'm just a rat in a trap. Damn David and his damn clan, so smug, so full of themselves. I need to kill him"

Mira's gaze flicked to him briefly. "We don't have time for that. We need to focus on getting out of here and finding Aiden." Her voice alway firm but emotionless. "Focus... That's what we need right now."

Riven shot her a glare, he began pacing even faster. "Focus? Focus on what exactly? Escaping? Revenge? Or maybe just staying alive? Because, Mira, I don't know about you, but I didn't sign up to be a damn mentor. I'm not here to babysit some newbie." His fist slammed into the wall, the sound reverberating throughout the room. "I never thought I'd end up here, not after everything I've been through."

Mira let out a long sigh, rubbing her temples trying to ease a growing headache. "You're not the only one, Riven," she muttered. "But we need to think ahead. We had a plan, but now it feels like everything's falling apart. We should have stayed one step ahead of them. And now… now, this whole zone is really need to be destroyed."

Mira sighed, rubbing her temples. "You're not the only one, Riven." She looked down at her hands. "I thought we had a plan. We were supposed to stay ahead of them... it really is time to destroy this zone."

Never thought that after, all that Mayor Alan did for this zone he will have it come crashing down. It's getting out of control.

Specifically, David wasn't just a leader…he was a symbol. The man who crushed entire Dpecter and rebuilt this city in his image. And now, he had specters locked in his cage…causing it own downfall.

She couldn't help but think back. Callin's clan wasn't just another clan it was a political force that controlled everything in this zone. The Mayor Alan, once their ally, was now caught in a web of influence he couldn't escape. If David wasn't careful, the entire zone would collapse under his own ambition

Riven scoffed. "Plans are useless when you're running for your life," he shot back. "All I care about right now is figuring out how to get out of here and kill David and his clan."

Mira's eyes flickered she stared ahead, lost in her thoughts. "We need to know where we stand first. We can't run blindly into danger, not when David's pulling the strings here."

Her voice lowered, barely a whisper as she muttered to herself. "Aiden… Where are you? Why haven't we heard from you yet? What happened after you—"

Riven interrupted, his voice dark with anger. "Who cares where he's been? I want to know how to get revenge on "David and Callin." The man who's been keeping us here. And who's gonna pay for everything he's done."

Mira just shook her head. 'It's not about revenge right now. It's about getting out of here and finding Aiden. I promised Kurt I would help him.'

She knew that Kurt is, very much likes Aiden even after all thses year where after all a exodite goes throught there can lose there emotions. He still took care of Aiden and had his humor.

In fact it's that, Riven joined them when had something goes on in his life that he needs to be heroic just that he never showed it for anyone else beside that person.

Riven clenched his fists. 'Ever since that damn boy showed up, everything's been slowing down. My progress, my search…it's all been delayed. We should have been moving faster.'

He muttered under his breath, "I don't know why Mayor Alan hasn't just wiped out the Callin clan already. They've caused enough trouble. Why let them continue to exist?"

Mira responded. "It's understandable why he hasn't. A clan with the ability to manipulate different elements a vacuum pull, also able to control fire and poison… they're dangerous, yes, but they can also be put to good use."

Riven gritted his teeth. "Good use? Don't make me laugh. These people have been around for far too long. They've done too much damage. The Exodites shouldn't let them get away with it."
