Chapter 58 - Damn Copycat!

Leo instantly typed back into the chat group.

[ Leo: Can you exactly tell me what happened? ]

But before Hope's reply could arrive, the system's interface flashed a deep, foreboding red.

A sharp ping echoed in his mind as a cold line of text appeared for all members of the chat group:

[ The user you are trying to connect to has been Disconnected from the mainframe. ]

"...What the hell," Leo muttered, narrowing his eyes.

Tiamat, who had also been watching the message unfold, frowned deeply. "What happened? I need answers — now."

The chat, previously silent, flickered back to life as another message slid in from Aizen:

[ Chair Sama: That is a bit ominous...? ]

Before Leo could respond, the system itself spoke — no, declared — with mechanical indifference:

[ Alert: The sector that the individual "The Tribrid" resides in has been lost, as its Administrator has elected to terminate all dealings with the Multiversal Charter. ]

[ This is an unprecedented situation. Charter response protocols are active. ]

[ Warning: World travel services may be temporarily unavailable. ]

Leo's mind raced.

Lost? Administrator terminated dealings?

What kind of situation escalates to this ?

"What happens to her?" Leo demanded sharply.

[ Unknown. The Charter is currently initiating an appropriate response to the situation. ]

Tiamat, her name now showing simply as The Mother, eyes narrowing to slits, asked through the chat:

[ The Mother: What are the likely possibilities? ]

Again, the system repeated the same corporate, rehearsed phrasing:

[ The Charter is launching an appropriate response at this moment. Please stand by. ]

Leo's patience snapped.

"Fuck your response," he barked, "Are you not going to rescue her?!"

The system paused — then replied, as if this was a formality:

[ A rescue request has been placed for all eligible members. ]

[ Pending acceptance. ]

I want in!

Leo's decison was iron, absolute.

" I willbepart of this mission. She's our comrade — this is not negotiable. "

A brief silence stretched, as if even the system itself had to hesitate before responding to that raw conviction.

[ Confirmation received: The One True Satan , designated leader of group, granted Priority Access. ]

[ Please stand by for coordinates and temporal synchronization. Estimated departure: Pending current dimensional clearance. ]

[ Warning: Unknown risks. Success rate undetermined. ]

[ Leo: Aizen, if you wish to join this mission, you can come with us. Tiamat has already agreed. ]

As if on cue, the system sent a notification:

[ Clearance granted: The Mother (Tiamat) has been approved for the mission. ]

Aizen's reply followed shortly after:

[ Chair Sama: I don't mind. It'll be best to rescue her as fast as possible. ]

Moments later, the system confirmed:

[ Clearance granted: Chair Sama (Aizen) has been approved for the mission. ]

Leo felt a flicker of hope — they were almost ready. But just as he was about to ask for the final clearance, the system's sterile voice cut in:

[ Mission Status: Stand by. ]

[ Requirement: Minimum 5 members for dimensional breach and recovery mission. ]

[ Current party: 3. ]

[ Independent partners required to complete mission roster. ]

"What?" Leo's brow furrowed. "But I only have three members in my chat group... Why would anyone outside agree to help at all?"

As the system processed Leo's request, another screen — different from the chat group interface — flickered to life.

This was the second system, the one Leo had noticed before.

He'd long suspected they weren't properly synchronized, and this confirmed it.

While the main system always handled multiversal interactions and group management, this "alternative system" gave him story paths, hidden insights, and solutions to problems.

[ Would you consider an emergency two-member expansion to your chat group? ]

Leo's eyes narrowed at the offer. "Will there be any losses to the chat group if I take this option?"

[ No losses detected. The Charter may reject the request, but it poses no harm to the existing structure. ]

"Good enough," Leo muttered.

He confirmed the action, and the screen responded promptly:

[ Processing request... Priority access granted. ]

[ Generating recruitment protocols... ]

Then, suddenly:

[ Access denied! ]

The main system screen, handling the chat group, immediately overrode the request, its sterile tone almost mocking.

Leo's eyebrow twitched. Tch.

This damn system never works properly.

First, it moves slower than a snail on bad Wi-Fi, then it takes its sweet time to process my requests, still hasn't granted me the [REDACTED] information I asked for, and now it's blocking my expansion request?

He let out a breath of frustration, glaring at the conflicting screens.

Before he could say anything else, the alternative system screen went black for a brief moment.

When it returned, a message flashed:

[ System prioritizes Host as Priority One. ]

[ If Host's life enters an immediate death scenario, the Charter will be forced to comply and trigger an Ordeal Call. Emergency protocols will override all system restrictions. ]

Leo's eyes lit up dangerously.

"So basically," he said slowly, "if I throw myself into a death situation... the Charter has no choice but to let me go through with the mission."

Tiamat's gaze flicked to him, reading his expression perfectly. "You're seriously thinking of doing that, aren't you?"

Leo said. "Desperate times, desperate measures."

Leo dropped every layer of defense, actively debuffing himself until his bodyfelt unbearably heavy and vulnerable.

Without hesitation, he pointed Neo Genesis at himself, the unstable spell forming dangerously close to his heart, crackling with volatile energy.

He felt it — the slight tremor in the air as reality warped under the pressure of the magic.

Since it was his own hand aiming the spell, there were no safeguards left.

If he let it fire, this could in theory genuinely kill him.

Vivi forcefully materialized out of thin air, panic written all over her face.

Her hand clamped down hard on his arm, eyes wide with disbelief.

"No!" she shouted, her voice shaking.

But Leo, whose current body far surpassed hers by dimensional strength, easily overpowered her grip.

His expression remained calm, even gentle, as he smiled at her.

"Don't worry, love," he said softly, "nothing will happen to me.... Probably. I hope."

His casual words did nothing to ease the tension.

"I don't understand why you'd go this far," Tiamat said, her tone less frantic because she knew she couldn't change hus mind.

Leo, eyes still locked on Vivi, then glanced at Tiamat and spoke with unwavering conviction.

"I've been given the responsibility of every single member of this chat group," he began, voice steady despite the dangerous magic humming against his chest.

"If I have to bet on hope after every other option is exhausted, then I'll bet everything.... Every second we waste is another moment Hope gets closer to a fate worse than death… or maybe something even worse than oblivion."

.

"We don't know what's happening to her," Leo continued, eyes burning with determination.

"But I'm going to make sure nothing happens to her."

The unstable spell pulsed dangerously, casting wild shadows across their faces — Leo ready to gamble it all, even his own life, for the sake of his comrade.

The moment Leo's life force began to degrade — rapidly, dangerously so — the system that monitored his existence flared to life in a panicked frenzy.

[WARNING.]

[ PRIORITY ONE INDIVIDUAL UNDER IMMINENT THREAT.]

The screens switched wildly between crimson and static, lines of corrupted code bleeding across the displays.

[OVERRIDING PROTOCOL IN EFFECT.]

Leo felt the weight of the world push down harder as he fought not only the world's natural resistance but also the world administrators locking down the use of Neo Genesis against himself.

The Administrator didn't comsent to this spell to go off in their world — not because of concern, but simply it was Class-1 Regression spell.

Still, Leo's will bore down like an unstoppable tidal wave.

He gritted his teeth, muscles straining as he forced the magic circle to stabilize, closer and closer to critical collapse.

The system began to loop, repeating fragmented messages:

[ERROR. PRIORITY ONE THREAT DETECTED.]

[UNABLE TO PROCESS REQUEST. SERVERS CURRENTLY CLAMPED BY EXTERNAL RESTRICTION.]

[REQUEST FOR CHARTER OVERRIDE: DENIED.]

[CANNOT COMPLY.]

[CANNOT COMPLY.]

[CANNOT COMPLY.]

Tiamat's eyes narrowed. "Leo, this isn't—!"

Before she could finish, the system became wilder.

[SYSTEM FAILSAFE ENGAGED.]

[PRIORITY ONE INDIVIDUAL LIFE VALUE: CRITICAL.]

[FORCED PROTOCOL ESCALATION.]

The screens violently flashed, then for a breathless moment, everything froze.

A ripple went through the fabric of space, as reality forcibly rewinded and then surged forward.

And then—

[ORDEAL CALL INITIATED.]

A new alert came over over the frozen interface, the system no longer calm and corporate, but frantic, desperate:

[TO ALL CONTRACTED SYSTEM MEMBERS AND RECOGNIZED INDEPENDENT ENTITIES: ORDEAL CALL HAS BEEN DECLARED.]

[EMERGENCY SUMMONING OF PARTICIPANTS TO FULFILLEXPANSION QUOTA IN PROGRESS.]

Tiamat, was stunned into silence.

Leo, breathing heavily, felt the pressure begin to ease, if only slightly.

[REQUEST ACCEPTED. ORDEAL CALL ENACTED. HOST LIFE PRIORITY RECOGNIZED.]

[Fate Enforcement: Bypassing Administrator Restrictions.]

[Rescue Mission: Priority Alpha.]

As the system scrambled, locked in a desperate loop between override protocols and server clamping, it made an unprecedented move.

[ORDEAL CALL — RESPONSE GRANTED. SUMMONING "THE Strongest Yokai" and "The Brightest Star " .]

With a flash of distorted space and the sound of ringing chimes, the atmosphere warped.

A swirling ripple of energy tore through reality itself, and stepping out gracefully from the rift was a stunning figure but her face was disfigured to inhuman proportions.

Her long, jet-black hair flowed like liquid night, crowned by a small, golden tiara.

She wore an elaborate sky-blue dress adorned with a massive bow and a gemstone centerpiece.

In one fluid motion, she raised her mirror — and with a wave, she captured the dangerously formed Neo Genesis spell.

The unstable energy vanished instantly, sealed away in the depths of her mirror as though it were a mere trick of light.

But that wasn't all a blonde man with angel wings appeared in fromt of leo but didn't bother to help only narrowing his eyes at him.

The system, seemingly relieved yet still unstable, quickly followed:

[CRITICAL EVENT CONTAINED. USER STATUS: STABILIZED.]

The Strongest Yokai & Strongest Angel had arrived!

The tension in the air was rising — not because of the arrival of the two recruits.

No.

It was the sheer absurdity of the moment as Leo and the blonde man, both radiating demonic majesty, locked eyes in what could only be described as a cosmic-level staring contest.

For a full, tense minute, neither spoke. Neither blinked.

Neither acknowledged the critical situation unfolding around them.

Then, perfectly in sync, both jabbed their fingers at each other, their voices overlapping in mutual frustration:

"Damn copycat!"

The accusation was sharp, like thunder striking twice in the same place.

Two kings of Hell, two Lucifers — both born of rebellion, both forged in fire — and now both equally annoyed at seeing each other.

Even the strongest yokai, who had just elegantly sealed away the dangerously unstable Neo Genesis spell with a casual wave of her mirror, found herself pausing mid-motion, blinking at the comedic timing.

Tiamat blinked, clearly unamused.

"...Are you two serious right now?"

Vivi , deadpanned, "They're serious."

=======================

Sorry not Sorry i know people voted against DDD so i won't include the world but....honestly the Charachter of Reiko Kashima was far too interesting for me to not use but i didn't want to harm the expansion so I got creative!
