Lights, too many lights but not like the one he saw in his dreams. The smell of disinfectant smashed into his nose and he scrunched his face. He hears the running of footsteps, without seeing the face he knew who it was. His mother. He was getting her worried for a thing he didn't even know about.
He pulled his arm over his eyes while his mother cried, there was no need to console her, he knew more complications and explanations are yet to come so it was better for her to let go of her emotions while he thinks what to tell her.
He mulled over his thoughts and fling his arm to his side trying to sit up but his mother pulled him down asking him to lie back down but he told her he was fine which he was. He didn't even know how he found himself in the hospital or what happened on the road. But first and foremost, he needed to meet that sly wraith and talk to him.
He needs to know what was happening to him and what they might have done to him. He lied he needed to use the toilet and went in leaving his grieving mother which continuously pierced his heart at the sound of her cry and the tears in her eyes. But what can he do?
"I know you know all what is happening, come out" zayn gritted out. He felt pain in his ribs which he didn't know was there but now he spoke so hard "I know all this might seem like a game to you but not me and my family. That damn faction of yours is a fucked up place that has nothing to offer to this world and any other world that exists" he let out a breath holding the walls by his side. He waited for minutes and nothing, he banged the door "damn you and that faction of yours. I pray the apocalypse happens" he left the toilet back to his mom and bed.
After some minutes in the bed, he sat upright and stared at his mom, requesting for them to leave the hospital but she disagreed saying he needed to stay thus begging for her to listen which she didn't refuse after the second plea.
They went home where his mother prepared food for the both of them to eat, it has been a long ride. He got ahead of himself concerning the wraith, he fainted apparently in the middle of a fucking road intersection,almost died which he was supposed to but lived since he was currently alive and well.
After the dinner he stayed in the living room with his mother as they discussed with her talking more and bringing up topics while he listened. He leaned his head back on the couch closing his eyes for rest however he found himself back into that hall. This time no light or anything but utter darkness.
The sound of light footsteps advancing towards him which he couldn't make the form of the person even with the steps getting closer and closer until he was tugged backwards almost stumbling. He breathed wishing he would wake up but a laugh he had to grow accustomed to blanched his face bouncing through the obvious empty hall into his ears. He was scared not because of the wraith but what he could do to him and what would become of his mother.
"YOU WERE SAYING SOMETHING BOY?"
Zayn tried steadying himself from the impact from the voice, the voice and breath of the person felt too close to his ears he tried sprinting into the darkness which was the only choice but a force pushed him back on the floor and crawled backwards his eyes searching into the darkness.
"You tried to kill me!!"he yelled "and what is happening to me? Why am I here? You—"
"NO MORE QUESTIONS BOY, YOU WILL GET YOUR ANSWERS VERY SOON AND YOU WILL DEFINITELY LOVE IT. TILL WE SEE. GOOD BYE."
"No no no no" zayn changed standing up "you can't do this, you can't play with my life! I have things to do with it. Stop this!!!!!"
"Ahh, gosh" zayn felt like a boulder was on his head, he stretched his body and stared out his window. It was morning. How? He tried scrambling out from the bed but the sound of the door creaking open made him halt watching his mother drop the tray of food on his table by the side of his room.
"You fainted"
That seemed like it 'cause he can't remember all what happened after that little act with the wraith obviously. "This was why I insisted you stayed at the hospital so—"
"I'm fine mom"
"Then why did you faint? You kept sweating and talking in your dreams"she sat close to him on his bed "I'm scared zayn, so scared with everything that has been happening. I don't know what to say or do about it but please fight and fight and fight" he only nodded and kissed her on the forehead.
She stood and brought the tray of food close to him so he could eat and left. While he ate, she shouted she was leaving for work and he bade her goodbye leaving only him in the house.
