"Why her, though!?"
Wren frowned. She circled the room quietly. Irene was just standing in the corner, not daring to distract her. After about two minutes, she snapped her fingers and smiled. "I got it!" she announced.
"Those two adulterers had an affair behind their partners' backs. In their tiny little minds, they figured that the only obstacles to their path of happiness were their spouses, and Mr. Pepe was the toughest one. This is a conspiracy of two cheaters! How does that sound?"
Irene looked at her in disbelief. Wren had just written the novel and spoke as if it were the truth.
"Is that the reason you recorded them?"
"Mm-hmm!" Wren casually replied.
"But...that wouldn't prove them guilty."
Wren chuckled and took a sip of red wine before she glanced out the window. Her eyes were watery, filled with an endless abyss. "Amateur!" she spoke.
