Chapter 105 - Chapter 105 : Back to Westview

Administration Hall

After everyone left one after another, only Finn and a few others remained.

"Thor, what shall we do next?"

Valkyrie glanced at Thor and added, "The situation is very tense now. If those children can't be rescued safely, it's going to be a serious problem."

"Don't worry, we can go to Zeus for help."

Thor looked off into the distance, a resolute expression on his face.

The place where Zeus resides is Omnipotence City, where all gods gather, and its strength is not to be underestimated. With his aid, facing Gorr the God Butcher should be relatively easier.

"Are you sure Zeus will help us?"

Hearing this, Valkyrie couldn't help but question Thor.

"Gorr has already slain so many gods; he won't stand by and do nothing."

Thor's tone was firm. As the King of the Gods, Zeus wouldn't ignore a threat of this magnitude. His intervention was almost certain.

"Finn, do you want to come with us?"

Thor now turned to Finn, gauging his willingness to get involved.

After all, Finn had proven himself capable, standing against Gorr without hesitation. His strength was undeniable.

"This is your battle, not mine."

Finn shook his head, rejecting the offer without hesitation.

In his mind, he already knew how events would unfold. Zeus wouldn't offer help willingly, forcing Thor to take matters into his own hands. Eventually, Thor would succeed in rescuing the children without Zeus' intervention.

The kids weren't in immediate danger, so there was no real reason for Finn to involve himself.

Upon hearing this, Thor shifted his gaze to the two women standing beside Finn, hopeful. "How about you two? Are you willing to help?"

A single Wanda Maximoff was already powerful—two would be even stronger.

With them by his side, the fight against Gorr would be much easier.

"We follow Finn's lead."

The two Wandas looked at each other and responded in unison, showing a rare moment of agreement.

"I won't force you. We'll seek out Zeus."

Thor sighed, understanding their decision. They had already done enough for Asgard. It wouldn't be right to press them further.

Besides, this was a matter concerning the gods, and only they could resolve it.

"No time to waste. We move now."

Valkyrie's expression was serious. "We have to rescue those children before Gorr harms them."

"Agreed!"

Thor and the others nodded.

Westview

"It's getting late, we're heading back to Westview."

Finn didn't waste time. With a wave of his hands, he conjured a portal of golden energy, illuminating the hall.

The shimmering vortex opened before them, revealing the familiar streets of Westview on the other side.

"Take care, everyone."

Finn stepped through, the two Wandas following close behind.

"Finn, Wanda—when this is over, we'll find you."

Thor and the others bid farewell. Though they hated parting ways, their duty came first.

With a final glance, Finn and his companions disappeared through the portal.

The moment they stepped into Westview, a system notification echoed in Finn's mind.

[The host has returned to Westview. Please remain within the designated safe zone for the next seven days, or the hiding period will be invalidated.]

Finn paused for a moment before realizing what this meant.

Just as he expected, returning to Westview meant his location was now restricted. Aside from hiding, he couldn't venture out.

That was fine.

He had been through enough battles for now. A little downtime wouldn't hurt.

"Feels good to be back."

Wanda glanced around, observing the lively town, its people going about their daily lives. A sense of warmth filled her chest.

The sun was bright, and the townsfolk greeted the morning with smiles.

"You look like you've never seen the world before."

Dark Wanda—her blackened counterpart—smirked as she bathed in the sun.

"Shut that mouth of yours before you ruin the mood."

Wanda glared, crossing her arms.

Every time the atmosphere was good, this woman had to ruin it.

"Oh? Want to experience it again?"

Dark Wanda's lips curled into a teasing grin as she stepped closer.

"You—what are you doing?!"

Seeing her advance, Wanda quickly ducked behind Finn, like a kitten seeking refuge.

The memories of their last encounter were still too fresh, too vivid.

Finn sighed, stepping between them. "Enough. Now's not the time for games. Behave."

"I was just trying to lighten the mood."

Dark Wanda pouted, pretending to be the victim.

"It's late. Let's head back to the apartment."

Finn glanced at the sky. Night had fallen, and the town had grown quiet.

Both Wandas nodded in agreement.

Soon, they arrived at their shared apartment complex.

At the door, Dark Wanda attempted to step inside, only to be stopped by a firm hand.

"You're staying next door."

Wanda's expression was cold and unyielding.

Dark Wanda turned to Finn, waiting for his final verdict.

"Yeah, it's best if you stay in the other room."

Finn nodded, his voice calm.

The last thing he needed was another explosive conflict between the two. If they fought, the entire building might go up in flames.

"Fine."

Dark Wanda sighed in disappointment, but before leaving, she leaned in close and whispered, "Don't sleep too deeply tonight—I might pay you a visit."

Wanda heard this and immediately scowled.

"Not happening. I won't let you."

Grabbing Finn's hand, she pulled him inside.

BANG!

The door slammed shut.

Dark Wanda chuckled to herself. "Amusing."

With that, she turned and walked into her own room.

As the moon cast its glow over the town, the cicadas' hum faded, and Westview fell into silence.

After days of battles and chaos, the trio finally got some rest.

The Next Morning

The rooster crowed as the town stirred awake. Leaves rustled in the wind, and the streets buzzed with morning activity.

"Finn, you're up early."

"Going to the market so early? Hardworking young man."

People recognized Finn as he strolled through town, greeting him warmly.

"Just out for a morning run—and grabbing some supplies."

He returned their smiles.

The people of Westview weren't just friendly; they were genuine. Perhaps, if he ever tired of the battles and chaos, this town would be a good place to settle down.

Back at the community apartment.

Opening the door, Finn found the witch sitting on the sofa. He was about to approach and greet her, but an eerie chill in the air made him stop in his tracks.

"How did you get in here?"

Finn frowned slightly. If Wanda saw this, she would assume they were secretly conspiring.

"The door was unlocked. I walked right in."

Dark Wanda turned her head, her crimson-tinged eyes locking onto his as a sultry smile curled her lips. "I'm not sneaky, am I?"

Hearing this, Finn's gaze darkened.

"Do you think I'll believe that?"

If he hadn't been the one to lock the door himself earlier, he might have.

"If you don't believe me, there's nothing I can do."

Dark Wanda shrugged innocently, tilting her head slightly. Her piercing gaze softened just enough to appear sincere. "Finn, I want to eat the breakfast you make. I haven't smelled that familiar scent in a long time. Can you make it for me? Just once?"

Even now, she could recall the taste of Finn's cooking, something that had once been an irreplaceable comfort. But after Finn had died—at least in her past—she had never experienced that taste again.

Finn studied her carefully, sensing genuine longing behind her request. After a moment, he gave a short nod.

"I can do that. But I won't start until Wanda wakes up."

"Aren't I Wanda, too?"

Dark Wanda didn't answer his statement directly but posed her own question instead.

"What do you think?" Finn met her gaze steadily. "Go back first. You being here complicates things."

He didn't want Wanda upstairs to see this scene and misunderstand the situation even more.

"I'm not leaving. The TV here is pretty nice. And I can afford to wait."

Dark Wanda turned back, lounging on the couch lazily as she flipped through the channels.

"But the volume might wake her," Finn argued.

And yet, before he could say anything more, the sound of the TV lowered significantly. Dark Wanda lazily rested her chin on the armrest, her gaze still trained on the screen.

"There. Now it won't bother her."

Seeing this, Finn exhaled sharply, shaking his head. There was no reasoning with her.

Instead of continuing the conversation, he turned around and placed the ingredients he had brought back into the fridge. Then, without another word, he made his way toward the study. His fingers itched for something to do.

Truthfully, he rarely played games, but right now, he needed an excuse to avoid Dark Wanda.

Upon entering the study, he closed the door behind him and switched on the desk lamp. Dim light cast soft shadows across the room.

Just then, his phone vibrated in his pocket.

A message flashed on the screen from T-1000.

[T-1000: Report.]

Finn froze for a moment before realization hit him.

"Damn. My shadow organization—I almost forgot about this."

He had established the organization himself, though with everything that had happened, it had completely slipped his mind. Leaving Westview for a time had kept him too preoccupied with other matters.

Regaining his focus, Finn immediately opened the report file sent by T-1000.

The general content was as follows:

After covertly infiltrating various criminal networks, the Sombra had successfully subdued all major crime syndicates in the United States. They had secured profit-sharing agreements from various businesses—including gas stations and casinos—effectively taking control of the underworld's financial backbone.

The revenue generated from these shares alone amounted to tens of millions of dollars, nearly half the average annual income of the entire country.

Finn's expression hardened.

He had long known about the financial infrastructure of these organizations. Their wealth was rooted in the two most corrupt industries—fuel monopolies and gambling.

And, of course, these businesses operated in the shadows, making them easy to control.

Sombra's involvement had been a strategic decision from the beginning.

Finn scrolled further through the report. There were two additional documents attached.

The first detailed T-1000's ongoing efforts to establish contact with official agencies, attempting to gain their trust.

Finn scoffed. The idea behind Sombra engaging with government agencies had always been about securing intelligence networks.

With that, he could stay ahead of any potential threats through the feedback provided by Sombra's agents.

But at this point, cooperating with the authorities hardly seemed necessary.

When Finn had first formed Sombra, it was because he was too weak—lacking power, influence, and the means to retaliate if his identity was ever exposed.

The intelligence network had been a safeguard, ensuring he would always be one step ahead.

But now? Now, things were different. He just had to wait.

Once the system rewarded him, anyone who dared to provoke him would be eliminated.

Furthermore, even without the rewards, he had two Scarlet Witches by his side. That alone made him untouchable.

Even in official Marvel Earth, the government was nothing more than a figurehead. Their influence was insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

With that in mind, Finn moved on to the next report.

This one described T-1000's current struggle with a specific individual.

A dangerous mastermind.

The name made Finn's eyes narrow.

Wilson Fisk.

Kingpin.

A man as ruthless as he was brilliant. A criminal overlord whose influence stretched across New York and beyond. The archenemy of Daredevil, Spider-Man, and the Punisher.

A tactical genius and physical powerhouse.

Kingpin wasn't just a crime lord—he was a force of nature. His body, composed of nearly pure muscle, gave him inhuman strength. He could break through walls with his bare hands.

On top of that, he was a world-class combatant, his fighting skills honed to perfection. Even if he faced multiple superheroes at once, he wouldn't be at a disadvantage.

Unlike most crime bosses, Kingpin wasn't a brainless thug. He was cunning, self-aware, and incredibly methodical.

His empire was built on blood, power, and manipulation. He had a vision:

To consolidate absolute control over the criminal underworld.

To rule America's underworld.

Finn exhaled sharply, sinking back into his chair.

Disrupting Fisk's empire wouldn't be easy.

Even though Kingpin wasn't on Wanda's level, he was still one of the most dangerous human opponents alive.

As he was lost in thought—

Click.

The study door creaked open.

Finn turned sharply. His expression darkened. Dark Wanda.

The way she carried herself, the cold air around her—it was undeniably her.

Her dark attire clung to her in a way that accentuated her figure, her silhouette framed against the dim lighting.

"What are you doing here?" Finn asked, voice edged with suspicion.

Dark Wanda didn't answer. Instead, she flicked her wrist. The door shut behind her.

Her crimson gaze locked onto his, her lips curving into a knowing smirk.

"What are you looking at?"

Her voice dripped with dangerous allure. The room felt smaller, the air thicker.

Finn instinctively took a step back. Something was wrong.

If he had known this would happen, he never would have let her in.

Dark Wanda took a slow, deliberate step forward.

"Finn… doesn't the atmosphere here feel just right?"
