Oliver watched Marrok go, a quiet sigh escaping his lips.
Behind him, Jax stepped forward with a raised brow. "Seriously, why do you keep bothering with that guy? Dude's got the personality of a wet shoe."
One of the other players chuckled, snorting in amusement. "More like one wrong look away from snapping someone's neck," the second joked.
Oliver shook his head, smiling faintly. "It's okay. He's new to Ridgehaven. Doesn't know anyone yet. Probably still adjusting. We all handle that stuff differently. Just give him some time. Let's be patient with him… and a little more understanding."
Jax groaned theatrically, throwing his hands up for added effect. "Man, you and your eternal saint complex. One day, it's gonna come back and bite you. Hard."
"It's already taking chunks out of him," another quipped with a sly grin, earning a ripple of amused chuckles.
