"Oh, Parker-Kun! H-Hello! How are you?" The freckled face of Izuku Midoriya flashed a bright smile as he saw Peter step into the support studio. It was lunchtime so he had decided to finally go to drop by, and it was super impressive, in his opinion.
Dozens of workbenches littered the room, along with piles of support gear, schematics, blueprints, and random tools lazily laid about. The only people in the room were Midoriya, a girl with pink hair who was muttering something about 'Babies', and the support course teacher, PowerLoader.
Speaking of Midoriya, he seemed a bit taller and more muscular than the last time he'd seen him a few months back. Who knew he had started working out? It seemed like the stutter was still there, though.
"Hey, Midoriya! I'm great, I've been meaning to drop by for a couple of days now. How's it going in class?"
"It's been r-really good, actually! Wait, hey! PowerLoader-Sensei! This is the hero course s-student I told you about!" The short man in the mech suit looked up from his magazine and started to walk toward the two boys, an interested look on his face.
The man extended a hand towards him and smiled warmly. "You must be Parker! You make most of your gear and help design it, right? Your web-shooters are really impressive, you should drop by more often!" The man greeted, Peter smiled and shook his hands.
"Yeah, I'll try! I just wanted to come and talk to Midoriya about my suit, you know?" Peter saw how Midoriya raised an eyebrow, how was he gonna break it to him?
Before the hero could continue their conversation, the other side of the room exploded. "Damn it, Hatsume! We've talked about this!" He yelled, quickly turning back to the two. "I'm sorry about her." Giving a quick apology, he turned back around and started to march to the girl.
"But Sensei! This is progress for my babies!" She justified, a giant grin on her face as she wiped the soot off of her face.
Peter only gave an awkward chuckle to himself at the sight of the exchange between student and teacher. While he had hoped things would be a tiny bit less weird than his class, he wasn't surprised.
"He seems cool! An-Woah, you alright?" Peter turned his head back toward his friend only to see him with a scared and petrified expression. It was as if he had remembered a horrible memory.
But what, though? All that happened was an exp-
An explosion.
...
"Hey, hey, Midoriya. You're alright, I got you." Grasping his shoulder firmly and turning him to face him, Peter gave a reassuring smile to try and make him comfortable. He could only breathe a sigh of relief as Midoriya slowly nodded.
"S-Sorry about that… I g-g-guess I got a bit lost in thought." He reassured shakily, taking deep breaths as he tried to steady his shaking hands.
"Bakugo?"
The boy only looked away and sighed. "Y-Yeah, some t-things remind me o-of that time."
"Wanna talk about it?"
"I'd r-rather not if that's ok…"
"Hey, it's cool. You're past that, you know?" Giving him a smile, Peter squeezed his shoulder. "I'm here if you need me, man."
"Thank you… Sorry a-again. What did y-you need about the suit?"
"Oh! Yeah, we had a combat exercise yesterday and it got destroyed. So I came here to tell you and brainstorm a new one!"
"Really? H-How was it destroyed?"
Oh, that part. He was gonna tell him but… The guy just a small panic attack about Bakugo! How was he gonna tell him? Maybe pin it on Moe cause of the burns? Think, Par-
"It was Bakugo, wasn't it?"
"Yeah… We had to f- Wait, what'd you call him?" Peter paused mid-sentence at what Midoriya had said.
He said 'Bakugo'. That was the first time he had heard him not refer to the ash-blonde by anything but 'Kacchan'. Also, he'd never heard him say a name with such… disdain.
"I… decided to ditch the childhood nickname, its crazy to think I didn't do it sooner." He let out a dry chuckle, fishing his phone from his pocket and placing it on the table. He grabbed a cable connected to a small device and plugged his phone in.
The device soon lit up, projecting a hologram of a loading screen for an app with the name 'Support Hero Analysis and Ideas'. After it fully loaded, Peter was met with what looked like a digitalized and updated version of Midoriya's hero notebooks.
It was a screen filled with different folders, some looked like they were updated versions for each of his notebooks, while others were entirely new. Midoriya scrolled down until he opened one called ' Support Hero Analysis and Ideas: Peter Parker.'
"What happened to your notebooks?"
"I-I decided to compile all the n-notes into one place that i-i could access easily. The info in there is w-way better than it used to be, I even made an app for it."
"Seriously? That's insane! I can't believe you made a whole app for your notes! You're so cool, man!" Peter grinned as Midoriya blushed at the praise and bashfully scratched the back of his neck.
The green-haired boy scrolled through the design and note-filled pages until landing on one detailing Peter's 'Stark' and the 'Advanced' jacket.
"Hey! There's my Stark suit and Advanced Jacket! Wow, you sure are good at drawing."
"T-Thank you, s- Wait, what did you call them?"
"I gave the designs some names, the suit is called Stark and the jacket is called Advanced. It sounded cool." Peter informed him as he saw Midoriya use a digital pen to write the new information on the page.
"Alright, so t-this was the design y-you made. Do yo-you accept criticism?"
Peter raised an eyebrow, where was Midoriya getting at? "I mean, yeah? What's up?"
He watched as Midoriya cupped his chin with his hands as he searched for the right words, muttering incoherently to himself. "W-While the design is good, it's n-not good o-on the field."
"On the field? Do you mean it doesn't have good functionality or something?"
The shorter boy gave a nod, unintentionally making it seem as if what he just said was a well-known fact. "Yeah. No offense, b-but it's a bodysuit that offers n-no protection or allows you to carry things like medical supplies for emergencies." He told him, barely stuttering.
It took a second of looking down at his shorter friend until what he had said finally clicked.
Wow, he was right! Man, no wonder he had so many scars, he was running around wearing cloth! Of course he'd get shot and stabbed easily! How had he not realized?
Oh wait, it was cause he had no budget or a second opinion.
Well, now he had both of those!
"But, d-don't worry, that's why I made t-this!" Midoriya stated proudly, turning a couple of pages until finally landing on the newest entry, Peter could do nothing but widen his eyes snd gape at the contents of the page.
It was his Stark suit but with added padding on his thighs, shins, and arms, actual boots, fingerless gloves above his regular gloves, a literal kevlar vest, an outside belt with a bunch of pouches, and a bunch of new functionality.
The jacket also looked to have a bunch of inside pockets to store web-cartridges. Midoriya didn't even change the designs of the suit or the jacket! He just built upon what was there!
It was beautiful.
"Holy shit, it looks awesome!" Peter pulled Midoriya into a tight hug and spun him around a few inches off of the ground, the boy madly blushing at the contact the entire time.
"T-Thanks! I took inspiration from S.W.A.T members to give you a more tactical look along with more protection. A bulletproof vest, the additional armor could probably take small blades, the boots still allow you to stick to things while being flexible and silent, a belt to carry important things, and extra storage in the jacket. Also, I made it more form-fitting so it's more comfortable and breathable." He told him with a proud smile, somehow not stuttering at all.
"Man, thanks. I owe you one! Wait, where's the mask? And the web-shooters?" Peter asked, a confused look on his face. His friend only perked up and turned the digital page once again.
The web-shooters were the MK.6 model Peter had designed last week. They were the same as the MK.5 but could hold two cartridges at a time, but then came his favorite addition.
Compatibility with his upcoming Spider-Drone.
Peter had designed a tiny drone that could be nigh-undetectable and stick to anything he wanted to track. The right web-shooter had a display screen on the top side that could act like a smartwatch that connected to his phone and follow the signal the drone gave off.
Tracking capabilities AND showing him his text notifications? And now he could finally make it?
Having a budget fucking rocked!
"The web-shooter w-will be able to track your tracer, tell the time, count steps, keep track of your heartbeat a-and stream music! I could o-only so much…"
"God, Midoriya you're the best! I'll try to stop by as often as I can so I can work on this with you, it doesn't feel right to let you do it all. Also, you're getting better with your stutter!"
Midoriya grinned proudly, until a certain girl ruined the moment between friends. "I offered to put rockets on those web thingies but he said no!" She called, quickly being dragged out of the room by PowerLoader who was in the middle of giving a silent curse.
"Anyways, what did that little brain of yours do for the mask? Wait, did you give it lasers?"
"N-No, but improved it a tiny bit."
The mask was now a ski mask that retained the red and the webbing pattern but had two holes where the lenses should be. Peter then saw how Midoriya had drawn up a version of his lenses that made them goggles to wear over the mask, the notes around the design saying they were capable of night vision and emoting.
Also, he sketched up a single strap black backpack with a small red spider symbol that would act as extra storage for supplies and stuff, it looked practical and fashionable.
"It all looks so cool! It's straight out of a S.W.A.T member's closet but mixed with a ninja! When will it all be ready? Oh, I can't wait!"
"Well, w-with you working o-on it w-with me, maybe t-the sp-sports festival? It would take that l-long since we n-need to m-make t-the stealth version of i-it." Midoriya closed the app and sat down on a nearby stool, Peter quickly doing the same
"Cool, thank you so much! I'll help out as much as I can!" Peter exclaimed, Midoriya only giving a sheepish laugh.
"A-Are you going to g-give it a name like the others?" Midoriya asked, tilting his head slightly.
Wait, what could he name it? Peter cupped his chin in his hand and hummed in thought.
The Shield Suit? Nah.
The Night Monkey Suit? That was stupid.
The Mysterio Suit? He didn't know why but that name left a bad taste in his mouth.
Wait, he got it!
"What about… 'Stark: Quake' and 'Advanced: Quake'? That just feels right, you know?"
