Chapter 16 - Uninvited 1

"What are you doing here, Erica?" Paolo whispered sternly, glaring at the woman who had entered the room as well.

Erica looked at her uncle with a fierce look in her eyes. "I, of course, will help with the fight against Freya!" she proudly declared.

In an over-the-top pose and with a bright smile on her face, she faced her uncle with no fear. Only pure confidence.

Paolo rubbed his temples; he glanced at Valentina momentarily before focusing his gaze on Erica once more.

One of them was already tricky enough to deal with, but now both of them were here. And it just had to be at this moment. 'Did Valentina plan this, or did Erica follow her out of her own volition?' he thought.

Well, it didn't matter; he could absolutely not let her join, and the same for Valentina—they would have to sit this one out.

"Absolutely not!" Paolo declared, "The same goes for you, Valentina. And since you brought her here, you can deal with the aftermath." After saying that, Paolo grabbed both girls and threw them out of the room.

"Do not cause any trouble, or there will be consequences! Did I make myself clear?"

The two girls nodded, stomping away, and together they went into Valentina's room, closing the door behind them. The two of them looked at each other with knowing expressions.

"We need to be ready to move out at a moment's notice," Valentina said, a smug look on her face.

Erica nodded, making sure she had all her gear ready. And started looking out the window.

"How dare he kick us out just like that, hmph!" Valentina snorted as she also went toward the window to make sure they wouldn't miss when the Godslayers would leave the house to go and fight Freya.

"Let's first discuss the plan to make sure at least one of us can join the fight," Erica said.

Then the two started coming up with ideas on how to enter the battle even if Paolo would seal off the area.

Akira stared at Paolo, who had just thrown out the two girls, with a bewildered expression, while Doni looked rather laid-back.

"Don't worry about it; they're both troublemakers, so I had to do that," Paolo said, scratching his cheek awkwardly.

"On another note, we should be able to find her very soon. Are you both ready to move out at a moment's notice?"

The two nodded, taking a sip of the tea Valentina had prepared. "So Doni, the only thing I need you to do is make sure she can't leave the God's Dimension. I'll take care of the rest," Akira said, a serious look on his face.

He had her last time, but because he was careless, he let her slip away. But that wouldn't happen again. He was going to destroy her, take her authorities, and head back home to finally give his grandmother her medication.

All this nonsense might even cost her her life. Just thinking about that, Akira's eyes started to turn crimson once more. But he quickly calmed himself down by breathing in and out repeatedly and emptying his mind.

But it didn't slip past Doni; the moment Akira's eyes were half blue and half crimson, all his hairs stood on end. 'It was a good choice to take that deal,' he mused, a grin on his face.

It had been a long time since anyone had given him that feeling of intimidation. And this newbie had given it to him just because his eyes turned crimson? He definitely had a lot of tricks up his sleeve.

And he could slowly find them all out during the sparring sessions; just thinking about how exhilarating that would be was enough of a payment for Doni to come here.

Paolo didn't notice anything different; he just suddenly saw Doni grin like a madman. He started sweating profusely and wiped the sweat off his brow with a napkin.

His gaze focused on Lord Salvatore. 'Why is he so happy? Was the deal Akira suggested that good? But he just became a Godslayer, and even if he's exceptional,' he shook his head and stopped racking his brains.

Lord Salvatore was a rather peculiar Godslayer, and he would never understand his thoughts, so why bother trying? Just make sure to quickly locate Freya and get Akira to leave, then Lord Salvatore will follow after, and he'll be able to relax once more.

Then someone burst through the door, trying to catch his breath. "We huff, found her," he squeezed out in between ragged breaths.

When Paolo heard that, he stood up instantly. "Let's go!" he said, elated.

His team hadn't let him down; with a proud nod, he walked right past the man that had just barged inside. Followed by Doni and Akira.

Doni was looking very happy with a smile on his face, while Akira had a somber look on his face and was gnashing his teeth, mumbling something incoherent.

"Relax, I'm here now, so she won't be able to escape," Doni casually said, slapping Akira's back in encouragement.

Akira rolled his eyes and just kept following Paolo, not even giving Doni a reply, as they left the building and sat down in the car. They failed to notice two young girls sneaking out of a room on the third floor.

Following the car by jumping from roof to roof, both had a smug look on their faces. "Let's go, Erica; we'll show them!" Valentina said, loud enough for Erica to hear but also careful to not let anyone else notice them.

Erica nodded, clenching her fist, full focus on the car, and making sure they wouldn't lose it.

After a thirty-minute drive, they arrived at an abandoned factory. In the middle of nowhere, there was not a single house near it.

Akira and Doni left the car, and right after they felt it. They had entered God's Dimension. Akira flashed a grin.

"Thanks, Paolo; now just make sure no one comes near and let us handle the rest."
