"Oh my god, from last night's launch?"
"She's even prettier in person…"

Lorenzo's aura was sharp tonight, like a cold blade sheathed in designer clothes. He wasn't unkind—he nodded politely when someone stared a little too long—but his gaze was clear: Stay back.
It was protective, commanding. People instinctively kept their distance.
Silver noticed it too. "You're scaring them."
"I'm not trying to," he replied calmly. "But I won't have them disturbing your peace tonight. You gave them enough last night."
She smiled and looped her arm through his. "I like when you get scary for me."
