Gun had finally been caught.
After defeating an entire generation in a single night. The Shiro Oni stood victorious. His injuries and fatigue were too much for his body to handle but he still had the vigor to fight.
Until the police arrived and arrested him.
The whole place was surrounded by media personnel. Charles Choi stood at the school's rooftop overlooking the commotion. His bodyguard, his final line of defense, his wings, Gun Park was no longer able to stop what was going to come.
Immediately bombarded with questions about his involvement in employing minors to form gangs and collecting money from them, Charles quickly dodged the accusation as Gun took every blame on himself, stating he did it all on his own accord.
The next allegation of him kidnapping Gyeoul Baek were also dismissed as he himself appeared stating he was never kidnapped.
The situation was slipping from the hands of Prosecutor Gangmi Choi who had nothing more to try Charles for.
Meanwhile, Daniel Park was furiously looking for the blue toolbox which Gun had taken from him. The toolbox which contained the Red Paper. The only thing which could prove Choi's dark deeds and betrayal. He finally saw it lying unattended sitting on a window sill of the school. Quickly opening it he was stunned. The box contained the ashes of what was once the Red Paper!
FLASHBACK to Ch 512
With the Red Paper in his possession Gun made his way towards his home. The former school of James Lee.
"Its me" he called Choi on his phone.
"I've been waiting for your call" answered Choi.
"I retrieved the Red Paper" said Gun.
"Good. Bring it to me. I need to see it getting destroyed in front of me." said Choi.
"I will head there straight. Byeon is already where he is supposed to be right?" asked Gun.
"Yes." replied Choi.
(Imagine that the above dialogue was what was shown in Ch 512, the lower dialogue and Gun's actions are supposed to be a plot twist shown in Ch 516)
Gun was about to end the call when Charles voice rang through like a sudden shrill.
"WAIT" he yelled on the phone.
"What?" asked Gun.
"Burn it." said Choi.
"What?" asked Gun confused.
"Just burn it right there. I trust you enough. The only person I can trust blindly. Burn it. Destroy it. Just bring the remains with you here though." said Choi.
Gun sighed and ended the call, fishing out the lighter from his pocket, he flicked it on and put it in the toolbox. Allowing the paper to be burned to ashes.
PRESENT TIME
Daniel was stunned. 'What now?' he thought panicking. This was the only proof they had. He had underestimated Charles's trust in Gun. Now their proof was destroyed.
"Looking for this?" asked Reporter Kim suddenly appearing behind him, holding the Red Paper!
"What? How? How do you have this? Is it even of any use?" asked Daniel taking the paper, still shocked and confused.
"I have the real deal. Don't panic." she confessed calmly.
"But...but, according to the plan" began Daniel.
"I couldn't underestimate Choi. Not even for a little bit. That's why I created my own failsafe. What you had all along was a fake. This is the real deal. I switched it at the last moment so even you wouldn't know. Now go. Expose his wrongdoings." she urged.
Daniel nodded and left.
'So we had the original all along. This is why she asked me for that favor' thought Vin who was standing a little farther away.
"Well, I held up my part." said Vin looking at Reporter Kim.
"I know and I thank you for it." she said.
"I don't want a thank you. I want my answers that you promised." he said.
"I will don't worry. Now let's go. We can't stick around for long" she said as they both went away from the scene.
Now coming in the spotlight, Daniel showed the world the Red Paper. Byeon Kim was speechless. So was Charles.
He was completely blindsided.
But with a slight smile on his face he simply jumped to his death.
